I haven't given this much thought; I have no idea who who either of them is going to pick.

Trump needs to make his choice very carefully. He'll need someone with political experience to balance his lack political experience. I read somewhere the other day he might consider someone with a military background, but that isn't the way to go - so very few of the Presidents have been in the military and besides they have the JCS to help out the President.

This will be highly entertaining.

Mike Pence would be the best pick for Trump to be taken a little more seriously. Newt is just an obese self important jerkoff, just like Trump, no contrast.

Both Gingrich and Pence hurt Trump rather than help him - IMO. Hillary is already airing commercials with Trump talking about how he gets angry if he comes home and dinner isn't ready. She will add in Gingrich divorcing his wife as she lay in bed with cancer. That's not going to help with women.

Pence came under heavy fire when Indiana passed its anti-gay law. If he is the VP that will be front and center as Hillary uses it to appeal to the younger Bernie supporters.

The person most willing to commit political suicide will be the VP. That rules out anybody currently in politics that holds a somewhat decent job/position. I'm thinking it will be Newt Gingrich, because he really has nothing left to lose at this point and even a long shot to him is a decent shot.

That's not in the Republican playbook. Since Trump will be running against Hillary they will be looking for a woman or a minority to be Trump's running mate. Even better for them if it's a woman of minority.

Nightmare scenario is if he picks Sarah Palin.

We already saw how it play out before when McCain was running against Obama. They picked a female to be his running mate and that didn't work. Since that failed, in round two with Romney they didn't pick a woman or a minority, instead they took the handsome white man approach and that also failed. They'll start the process all over again since they are running against a woman this time.

I think Palin killed McCain's chances. I wasn't a McCain fan but he said a few things I liked, and I especially liked it when he stood up to that woman who called Obama a Muslim. I thought "Wow - McCain = Cool?".

But yeah, I would *LOVE* to see Trump pick Palin to be his VP. IF he did that, Jon Stewart would come back out of retirement just to repeat the jokes that write themselves.

For a while I was thinking that Trump would pick Chris Christie. Christie is a loud-mouth like Trump, but then again, he's so toxic. "Bridgegate" may still end up biting him in the ass.
