Just curious with no dog in the game. OK, its the sites content to do with as they wish and I could understand some affiliates feeling a little upset, however I'm surprised there was no talk of it on GFY.

I'll give my personal experience / opinion of things later if the tread gains traction but I'm just curious of what you thought from a punters point of view if you tried it out?

I know those who own / work for the sites will say 'It was a great success' as I've seen that elsewhere, but from a surfers perspective, how did you find 'FreePornDay' ???

Would it turn you off of tubes and interested in becoming a paying member instead?

Never heard of it.

Lots of people did hear of it. It received a LOT of national mainstream press coverage, that cant be denied. Apparently it generated HUGE traffic, (According to what I've read elsewhere) causing quite a few servers to go down and one of the big players being 'unable to handle it' and having to end the offer 11 hours early after collecting 32000 email addresses.

You expect way too much from GFY :)

Actually I would have thought a lot of 'SurfMasters' to have tried it out, even if only to just look in the members areas if not to actually 'enjoy' the porn.

First we lost bulk of the affiliate programs.
Then we lost the bulk of the coders/developers.
Then we lost the bulk of the designers.
Then we lost the bulk of the shooters.
Then we lost the bulk of the real webmasters.
I even think surfmasters are becoming pretty thin around here.

Some other offerings seemed to want me to actually join and pay, others wouldn't let me in at all (the stocking site) and the 'big one' Evil Angel, didn't seem to work for me at all :(

All I could seem to see on that one was the short previews. Perhaps I did something wrong?

Granted I have perhaps a bit more knowledge than a surfer, and I didn't really push the issue. I wasn't desperate to get inside to watch the porn, just curious about the entire event. However, had I been a surfer, looking to see what a paysite offered over a tube, I think I would have been very dissapointed with the bulk of the offerings. Which is a shame.

I do however think it was an interesting first experiment and will be interested to see how the next one goes :)

BTW, I didn't bother to look into your site, simply because I have been a personal paying member of the tainster stuff on and off for a good few years :upsidedow

My suggestion for next time would be to just have an email once at the main site and then the main site would have given direct access to all on offer from all sites via special entry - From the freepornday site.

funny, that would have been my suggestion as well since now it was a mess with all the different options.

Hoping to be involved next year, but sadly, when I spoke to other ModelCentro models, they weren't interested. Only seeing lots of content seen for free & not the extra sales after the free day :helpme

It might be smarter to have like a lottery for a free signup, some way to limit the # of free members at once, or better yet, give access to the site, and let them stream and view photos, but limited downloads to limit the strain on the server :thumbsup

I can't see giving un-fettered access to multiple TB of data. But now you have 32K email address to blast out every other day till they un-subscribe or signup :1orglaugh

Pretty sure most had downloads disabled already.

I remember back in day when surfer would open a thread always someone would post "surfer alert". Tubes destroyed gfy surfer traffic :1orglaugh
