Domainers

I sold a domain a few years back and got 10k for it, moneys long gone and so are the details of the sale.
The domain was on Godaddy and the buyer just wanted the domain shifted into their account, which I did immediately and received payment.
The person who brought the domain, has never changed the whois info, and never changed the DNS servers, I still get all the traffic, and domain registration emails, but its not in my account.
Its coming up for renewal, I've received multiple offers for the domain

Is there a way I can renew it, or even get it back?

No, that would be stealing. This happens all the time. The only time you could get it back is if the actual owner doesn't renew and you buy it at auction.

Is there a way I can renew it for them? like an extra nice gift from me, no theft involved.

I'm sure you can do that with netsolutions domains, they take anyone's money.

;)

there are some places you can do that but it still gives you no ownership rights. hover is one where you can renew someone else's domain. as far as i know this is not possible with godaddy.

Yeah I don't need to sell the domain, the traffic generated is very profitable, hence why I got 10k for it in the first place. All whois info and the DNS servers are still pointed to me.

If I can renew it, I just continue making money from it. I have like a two page site on it, never done any work as I always presumed new owner would pull it off me at some stage, if I can renew it then I will.

I have been sent multiple request's to buy it, so snapping it back is going to be a fight.
