Wisconsin recount observers find tampered seals on 5 out of 9 voting machines (pics)

Wisconsin, an observer said five out of nine recount machines had broken seals. The website for presidential candidate Jill Stein published pictures of two on Friday, but how this might affect the final ballot tally remains completely unclear for now.

The pictures were posted as part of the Stein website?s section that chronicles Wisconsin recount observer reports.

"Unproven"

"While images apparently showed two of five voting machines in St. Croix County, Wisconsin with tampered seals, the images were taken by a private individual and did not constitute a report from "recount officials." The voting equipment shown was not the voting equipment the state of Wisconsin reported was used in that jurisdiction. Labels affixed to the machine were worn but not removed, and the labels stated that their removal voided the warranty, not that it disqualified the machine's tabulations."

it's kinda funny how this was discovered a day after a judge rejected a hand count in Wisconsin... the timing of this discovery must be just coincidence? :error

Like Trumps lead dropping by thousands of votes after the recount was announced? Coincidence?

what's proven? that some idiot snapped some pics of some machines with a broken seal? it would take a second to break a seal with a fingernail, then snap a pic, just to stir shit up...

then there is also a minor detail that state of Wisconsin says that the machine serial numbers in the pics don't match with the machines actually used...

so this proves absolutely nothing... :2 cents:

Please provide a link to the state of Wisconsin's statement regarding the serial numbers not matching. Thanks!

Side note: notice the machines are assembled in the Philippines :1orglaugh

I misphrased it slightly, I actually got that from secondary source, not directly from state of Wisconsin: "The voting equipment shown was not the voting equipment the state of Wisconsin reported was used in that jurisdiction."

Trump told us it was rigged. We should investigate in all states.

You totally misrepresented the facts. The link you provide clearly states that Wisconsin DOES use the ES&S brand of voting machine depicted in the picture with broken seals.

So what was your point again?

It's stunning that your first reaction isn't "why are the seals broken on a secure voting machine?" instead you make it partisan and try to explain it away how patriotic. "Broken seals on voting machines is fine if my guy won" that is so fucked up and corrupt.

And now with broken seals on machines used to vote there's nothing to see here :1orglaugh

Install a blutooth transmitter/receiver in 5% of all machines in key districts and you own the election.

some counties use it, but apparently the county where the pics in question were taken do not use that type of machine... but either way, snopes looked at all the available facts and concluded that this is "unproven"...

then there is a weird coincidence that this was discovered a day after a judge rejected a hand count... why wasn't this discovered before, during or right after election? you don't think the timing is a bit odd and a bit too convenient?

so unless you know of any evidence that snopes didn't consider, at this point this is nothing more than a conspiracy theory... :2 cents:

and what does it it matter anyway? no judge I hope will fall for this bullshit as evidence of tampering, saving state of Wisconsin millions of $$ in unnecessary hand count costs...

That's what investigations are for...to prove or disprove certain allegations. Just because it is unproven right now, does not necessarily mean it will remain unproven in the future.

You assume this wasn't uncovered during/right after the election. A county election official, who might be in favor of Trump, would have no reason to alert the media about a broken seal if that county went for Trump.

Voting integrity is a non partisan issue.

Difference between you and I

I just reported machines were found with broken seals. I did not claim fraud or an opinion.

You say:

The pics are fake

The photographer broke the seals with her fingernails

Wisconsin doesn't use those machines (they do)

How patriotic. No matter what you have convinced yourself nothing is wrong. Don't you see a problem with your mindset?

the broken seal appears to be on the side of the machine and is clearly visible, so highly unlikely that no one noticed a broken seal on a bunch of machines until now, especially considering that countless number of people had contact with them, including the voters, not just "county election official"...

also, if someone is skilled enough to hack a voting machine, I'm sure they would be able to easily replace a generic "warranty void if removed" sticker, especially considering this would have been a high stakes operation so not getting caught would have been critical... leaving a broken seal behind would be a bit amateur, wouldn't you say?

Again, you are assuming no one noticed.prior. And some counties had under 800 people registered to vote. Not unfathomable that none of the voters noticed that broken seal prior.

You are also assuming that seal could be easily viewed during the voting process. Yet is is possible that the machine was situated in such away that the seal could not be easily viewed by voters.

A broken seal is cause for concern and warrants an investigation. I would not assume that my mere opinion about the effectiveness of an "amateur" hack attempt should be accepted as fact.

So many videos showing how easy it is to hack the machines.

Just like so many Bluetooth gas station skimmers are never noticed, same thing could be true with Bluetooth voting machine devices.

Voting machines should be opened, inspected, certified and sealed by the inspector before and after every election. Common sense.

I agree, the machines in question should be shipped to the FBI, there they will be investigated for any evidence of tampering... but until we get a word from them that any evidence of tampering was uncovered this is nothing more than a conspiracy theory... :thumbsup

Bladewire 12-03-2016 05:03 PM

Wow! You don't even need to break the seal on this machine!
