Something Else That Pisses Me Off...

Why do most Americans say 'I could care less' - It's 'I COULDN'T care less'...

I am watching one those political drama movies and it's meant to be about all these hyper intelligent people and they do that - Not sure why it annoys me so much - Anyway, that was moan of the day - Go back to what you were doing.....

Yes. Couldn't care less is correct and unused.

Another one is "irregardless."

So you care - Thank you for your support on this important issue...

The propper English is actually "I could care not less" :2 cents:

It's really not about the grammar anyway - 'I could care less' is the opposite of what people mean when they say it.....

NakedWomenTime 02-26-2017 02:47 PM

The reason is people copy each other for language. So one person decides to do this, and it can become popular.

lol agreed. 'math' is another one for me. Surely it's the shortened form of mathematics, and not of 'mathematic', no?

At least they are actually the correct US versions of the word/phrase... nowhere near as bad as using 'his' instead of he's, and 'could of' instead of could have, though... those 2 are just fucking shocking to see used so much by so many people. lazy grammar (hello!) I can live with, but fuck, those 2 examples are surely about as basic as it gets :helpme
