:thumbsup P.S. The pictures are mostly from Bulgaria, as far as I can see. Very interesting actually, because when you look at the modern Bulgaria, you can literally see Russia of 90's. A time machine! |
I have similar feeling in whole Balkan area (except Greece of course).
Just came back from Bulgaria actually, lived there for few months...there are differences between south and north of Bulgaria (south is better IMO, less soviet shitty influence in architecture, people are more open etc.). Also, brother - like Russia in 90s ? Does it include villages and small towns in Russia, even now ? or you talk only about Moscow and other big cities ? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:winkwink::winkwink: I bet that those are more developed in Bulgaria than those in Russia...NOW . Bulgaria = country with the best internet infrastructure that I ever visited :thumbsup:thumbsup also land of (kind of) strong Russian influence (prolly one of the strongest in whole Balkans), land of gypsies:1orglaugh:1orglaugh, Pomaks, gloomy northern Bulgars :1orglaugh:1orglaugh and happy southern Bulgars, and coffee for 25-50 eurocents ! interestingly, met few Russians there, and (just) one of them was drunk and had his brain washed by vodka and Russian state TV. kind of sad and scary experience at the same time actually:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:winkwink: Quote:

P.S. Oh course if I'd wanted to add porn channels by Hustler, Brazzers etc, I had to pay outstanding additional 270 rubles (about $4 USD) - a mouth. That's a real huge money for me: Пакет «Джентльменский набор», so I prefer to keep the money and don't pay for porn. I've got your point. The Internet in Russia sucks. I'm moving to Bulgaria, which is a far more developed country :thumbsup |
I never been to Russia :winkwink::winkwink:
(yeah, hard to beat 1 ruble for 100 mbps :1orglaugh:1orglaugh ) Also, I have strange feeling that you feel attacked when nobody did attack you here... I just expressed my opinion, thought that some people like travelling here on this forum ;-) Quote:

When I was watching the Sopranos with my wife, I was telling her: "wait a bit... I think the action will start right now..." But it hasn't started. Then the show has ended, I asked myself "WTF was that?" A TV show about a bunch of old and fat pussy clowns that robbed trucks with DVD players? DVD fuckin' players? Seriously? And Americans call them MAFIA? When those Italian immigrants just starting to speak there, they would be already shot dead or butchered just like pigs here. You really have to watch that Russian TV show. The only consilience with the American one is that those guys have never lived long enough. Almost everybody's I knew in 90's were dead by 2000. But there are some exceptions from the rule... E.g. Vladimir Vladomirovich Putin and his own brigade :pimp http://www.anspress.com/media/image/56bf9d2acdaf8/600@0 P.S. He has even been under the investigation, but his criminal case (Google for case #144128) was closed when he has became a president of Russia... https://i.ytimg.com/vi/v37VMDd73Dc/hqdefault.jpg Go figure who are the guys on the picture above. The Sopranos were little kids and misery losers in comparison the Russian brigades of 90's... |
Putin is a part of the biggest mafia in Russia - KGB.
no wonder why he got so big public approval, IF HUGE %% of Russian population either was in prison system (Gulags, prisons), either know someone who was in prison (family, friends) or was just in army in combat (afghanistan for example). "tough guy" for "tough people".... a guy that pretends to be "strong", guy that has PR as a tough sportsman who will "do the order" with all corruption and all Jewish oligarchs:winkwink::winkwink: got so much popularity among uneducated and not rich Russians...its rather long story, too many to say about this guy and his chronies....you also cant deny that he somehow "returned dignity" to Russian sense of importance, after the disastour years of 90s, when US President was patting back of always drunk Yelstin:winkwink::winkwink::winkwink: another good one example of that returned sense of dignity is user Sarn here on this forum, that feels so proud that he even dont care to speak proper English while posting on English forum:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh I love Sopranos. Best TV series IMO. Chrissy was stealing DVD players and stuff like that in first two series, later he was made a made man...They were doing serious business like real estate, construction, also some H pushing that later got one of them caught and rat on others (Big Pussy). Sopranos is great show mostly to few actors and great scenario - James Gandolfini is one of them. I watched some of the episodes of the russian show that you posted and its also OK. Much less psychology than in Sopranos and more down to earth on russian soil ;-) I prefer Sopranos though as I like psychology in the cinema. If I want to watch pure excellent action, I fire up "Ronin" movie from 1998.... the guys on photo with Putin look like Russian Armenians, Georgians or Jews..no idea who they are though case #144128 ? wtf is that ? its nothing compared to what he does now...and since he became president:winkwink::winkwink: its like stealing peanuts to stealing cars and land Quote:

The Afghan war was an absolutely useless campaign for the Soviet Union. I have no idea why we were involved there - no political interest, no profit... But even there we have lost 15 thousands during 10 years - much less than we lose in road accidents. The Afghanistan has lost up to 2 millions dead, BTW. I'm not going to defend that war, but for the huge Soviet Union it was a rather small military operation which was ended when Gorbachev has decided to show his good will to America. Quote:

also, it is a mistake thinking that slavic languages are all the same. I may understand maybe top 15 % of Russian (and only because I was learning it many many many years ago for some time). the rest if just other language...some words are the same, others similar, structure of sentences is similar, but thats all...different language that you have to learn (but I admit that it aint hard if you are slavic..Like Italian or Portugues for Spanish and vice versa)

P.S. If you have problems with Russian, the English subtitles will do the trick for you :winkwink: When I say that the Russian TV show about mafia is very realistic, I mean it literally. The arrested guy is in the news police report a major of Russian police Spetsnaz. He was starring as a member of the brigade in the mentioned TV show. He has got caught with drugs and got a lifetime in prison for that. Such an irony :))) |
