This may end up fizzling out. There is no smoking gun "high crimes" and misdemeanors -- burden of proof may be an obstacle without solid confirming evidence. This is like the first real brick falling from the wall :2cents:

There doesn't need to be a "smoking gun". We start with an investigation, which is where we are at now. This is very, very serious. They have issued subpoenas looking into financial information of individuals who worked for the Trump Campaign.

Manafort, for example, has some odd financial issues. Seems the day he got fired from the Trump Campaign he created an LLC and suddenly took out a mortgage for $3.5 million on his house?

Illegal? Maybe not. But it sure does look like a payoff to me, and obviously the people running the investigation seem to think so to. This is just the start. They will look into every financial transaction he's had in the past five to ten years. This will include all of his dealings in Ukraine too. They will also go after everyone involved with Manafort. And then Flynn.

They will find out exactly what happened.

It doesn't need to lead to a smoking gun. All they need is someone to say Trump attempted to shut down the investigation, and that's it - they move to impeachment. But we already know there is so much more to this.

Anyway: Of course, impeachment might never happen or might take years - everyone knows that. But what everyone from the WH should stop bullshitting about is a proper investigation into the whole Russia<=>Trump thing.
