Stephen Curry Signs An Insane Deal With Golden State Warriors

Not bad at all!

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have come to a $201 million, five-year agreement according to ESPN.

The 29-year-old is the team?s star player, but his previous contracts were paltry compared to some of his high-profile competition. Curry previously had a four-year contract with the team for $44 million, making this over four times the amount he was making when he brought the team to two national championships. When LeBron James signed to the Cleveland Cavaliers last year, he was offered $100 million for three years.

Even the King was celebrating the insane deal.

This contract will turn into an albatross for Golden State. All of the NBA's high scoring point guards break down prematurely. They aren't big enough for the scoring role and push their bodies too far.

He is one of the greatest players for the short time he has played. GSW maybe the greatest team since the 86 celtics

Steph's shotty ankles will start wearing out in a few years

bad season for curry i guess. there is a cursed for some nba guys who got higher salaries that their play will fade, injured, jinxed and some freak circumstances.

and I agree, 201M is way higher for a guy who have luck shooting 3s. if not his lucky 3s he's nothing

While I agree that amounts like these are ridiculous, not sure I understand how luck is relevant here. It is not like he got paid for the way he shot 3s in one or three games.
Or are you saying he is lucky for few seasons? :1orglaugh

he's an outside shooter for like 90% of his game... he isn't going to all of a sudden stop making his shots..

Yeah I don't see this contract becoming an albatross at all. Steph is the best player on the best team in the NBA and he's only 29 years old. Locking him up for as long as possible is a good deal no matter what the price is. This is drastically different than giving Kobe 25 million a year at 36 years old.

On top of that they have an amazing roster that he is able to lead and defer to, not carry. With sports medicine where it is today and the way the Warriors play, he'll probably get another huge contract before its all said and done.

Shooting doesn't deteriorate like athleticism does. Vince Carter isn't competing in slam dunk contests anymore, but he is still draining threes. Ray Allen and Reggie Miller had long careers hitting big shots from the outside.

A guy who is ONLY talent are draining 3s for $40,200,000 a year is crazy. KD must be hammer hitting his head.

And when his ACL pops, they are going to have an "Arenas" syndrome on their hands.

He was good in the Rocky Horror Picture Show :2 cents:
