Every site has bot traffic.
Every traffic broker has bot traffic.
Every traffic broker has low-quality traffic.
Every traffic broker has people trying to cheat it every single day... at the direct expense of advertisers.

The question is not whether or not you have bad traffic here and there. You do. The question is "Are you one of the assholes that will let a lot of it slide at advertisers expense so you can make money".

I just audited my accounts and see i've bought just over $475,000.00 USD worth of RON traffic from Jay/JuicyAds and have historical data on 70% of sites that have ever ran ads there - and that helps me find them in other networks like exoclick.

I noticed early that not all ad networks are not so active in banning blatant cheaters and that usually, the worst offenders find long term homes. At least Jay refunds immediately and bans them from juicy ads. There are VERY few others that can say the same.

And here is a timeless truth about traffic.

Bad traffic is easy to find and hard to sell.
Good traffic is hard to get because it's already bought.

No one with good quality traffic needs to go to a message board to sell it.

All true - I never said it wasn't. Bot traffic exists everywhere - the secret is to find those sources that quickly shut down bot accounts. We do that, and we refund advertisers that got bot traffic. That's just smart, long term business strategy.

My original post was more directed as some people who think that ALL adnetwork traffic is bots. It was starting to piss me off.

It's not quite as cut and dry as that. Not having your eggs in one basket is always good, branching out and finding more buyers helps you mitigate against a client just vanishing or cutting back, it happens more often than I care to deal with. It never hurts to remind people that you have traffic or that they can get their hands on it. Quality is decided by the market, the bigger your market, the more demand and the more data you have to determine your quality.

I've sold enough traffic in my life to know the more buyers available to you, the better. When it comes to bidding platforms at least.

Study: Negative impact of infected browsers, fake news grows for advertisers | Marketing Dive

DoubleVerify Global Study: Media Quality is Top Issue Affecting Digital Ad Performance; Brand Safety Concerns Persist as Fake News Surges - DoubleVerify

[I]nfected Browsers Overtake Bots as the New King of Ad Fraud

Bots are no longer the king of ad fraud. The DV report finds that infected browsers have quickly emerged as the new digital ad problem. Instead of bots creating ?ghost? browsing sessions, fraudsters are now manipulating a user?s active browser, making it harder to pinpoint and avoid. Key findings include:
  • The U.S. had the highest overall rate of advertising fraud at six percent, and the highest rate among display ads at six percent, compared to all other countries and markets in the report.
  • Video-based ad fraud reached 10 percent, two times worse than display.
  • The lowest fraud rate for display ads was in Latin America at one percent.
  • The highest fraud rate for video ads was in APAC at 13 percent, followed by North America at 10 percent.

I have personally seen a 98% to 99% bounce rate from popunders for cam sites from the 'mighty tubes'. Granted, these are very cheap bulk ads.
