Opioid problem has a money trail that leads all the way to Congress

So says a investigative team with the Washington Post & CBS News.
With a full story to be revealed on CBS 60 Minutes this Sunday.
You might be able to catch the short interview from CBS Morning News online

https://www.cbsnews.com/videos/how-t...were-derailed/

Freaking Amazing. Finally makes sense to me now why this problem has not been fixed and only gets worse.

Follow the money !

The opioid crisis in the US is entirely fuelled by big pharma.

You conspiracy types witter on about vaccinations and big pharma whilst missing the real crime that is being perpetrated by the medicine manufacturers.

Conspiracy type... HA... you obviously do not know me and I have never stated anything like your statement directed at me so stop talking out your bottom side and spend some time learning before you comment.

Shooting a messenger will keep you stupid. But it will allow you to feel good about what you think you know.

Obviously, You did not read the content or watch the morning news.
Yes, they have a trail of money from big pharma all the way to congress.
But you will have to wait for CBS 60 Minutes Sunday for the full grimy details.

I am only wondering if it is enough to stop this massive lobby control of congress.
At a minimum, Someone is going down for firing DEA agents that were closing in on this and ended up blowing the whistle .

It probably has not really been a secret if Ohio needed to act on it's own and it takes at least 6 months to prepare a case... 4 Months old...

And we had this same renewal of just say NO... At the same time...

And these are the folks the DEA were getting just before the new law... April 14, 2016

60 Minutes Overtime sums it up

The aftermath from the report so far...

One could ask, just how legislation passes that nobody really know what it is. Or do they ?
And you are suppose to trust them and what they say at a time they do not know what it is themselves. ???
They are all just money managers !

In any other part of America we would call this Organized Crime !

!

What he says at 6:50 about how Trump nominated the main guy responsible for this mess as the drug czar (who by the way just withdrew his name from the running because of this 60 minutes piece) is exactly how the administration operates. They find worst possible person to fill a position and I don't know if it's intentional or just plain stupid. Either way it's very worrying and this presidency needs to be stopped before we have irreparable damage.

Go through his cabinet and look at all of the scum in there. Each one is at odds with the very institution they're supposed to be nurturing. This is most likely the doing of Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller. Trump just goes along for the ride because he's a rudderless moron. At least Bannon isn't part of this anymore, but I'm sure he'll still be influencing Donald Trump in some way.

When the history books look back on this fucking catastrophic mess it'll be seen as one of the darkest times our nation has ever seen.

Well, ... That's where the money is. Someone just has to paint a good picture going into it.

But this is not a new thing. And perhaps now eveyone will realize that congress has been for sale for a very long time !

Just look at the repeal of Glass-Steagall act in 1999
A very simple explanation of that...

If you think about it, bribes in Congress are a constant. This is why we have lobbyists. It's horrible.

crockett 10-17-2017 09:05 AM

Most US problems have trails that lead to Congress..

bronco67 10-17-2017 10:36 AM

Lobbying should be illegal. Which president will have the balls to make it go away?

Start by making them immediately accountable for it !
and questioning them when they shove new legislation at us...

Yes they can take a carrot, but you hold the stick...
If they do not fear you, they will not serve you !

BTW...
I'm not always certain that it always one party over some other on this if you understand how and where these political advisors come from and both party's are on the take.

Paul Markham 10-17-2017 11:36 PM

No surprise there that politicians put donors before voters.

This would have a massive impact on the political and democratic landscape. :2 cents:

VRPdommy 10-18-2017 04:54 PM

Today's Political Advisor Is Tomorrow's Lobbyist.

It seems to be the goal and they sell themselves out for the better paying job.

The politician's really only know what the advisor is telling them.
They don't read any of the legislation or really have a hand in writing it, along with special 'paid for' wording that changes the effect of any law/rule as it applies to the CO paying for that wording.
