adult content warning
Is there some kind of law that obliges me to put a "adult content" warning on the main page of the website? "This website contains age restricted materials. If you're under the age of 18 years...." Almost all paysites have this warning, but large and famous porn tubes don't have it.

I don't believe there's a law requiring warning pages on websites. Only warning I know of that's required is the CAN-SPAM ?SEXUALLY-EXPLICIT:? label for email communications

Depends on the country you are operating from and the laws. I would use a warning page for sure and of course, it is not explicitly defined by law, but warning page means a visitor was informed that there was an adult content before seeing it - and if the visitor was an underage person, then he/she entered the site wilfully despite knowing the content was only for adults. This can prove you had no intention to show porn to minors, which is a criminal offense.
There must be some kind of a gate to protect minors, not sure how legally tubes operate. |
18 USC 2257 Read it and you?ll find out about necessary warnings, required documentation and legalities in the USA.
Many adult sites I visit, hosted in the USA, have no warning or declaration. Or don?t put a full legal name. Ten years ago people tried to hide. Barely any prosecution means people ignore it. Trump is the type to bring it to the forefront again. |
No just go ahead and put up nude pics
