I need a wireless printer

I need a new printer.... Has to be wireless.

I haven't bought a printer in over ten years. Just don't have much of a use for them these days. What's a good wireless printer these days?

Bladewire 12-27-2017 03:08 PM

I have HP

Whatever you do DO NOT buy HP their ink expires and their printer software is bloated shit

I have a canon. Very cheap and does all I need it to do. Even when I got my new phone I hit 'print' and it downloaded the drivers for me. Flawless really.

Pretty sure all printers have wireless capability these days.

Canon and Lexmark are okay; HP sucks.

2MuchMark 12-27-2017 04:13 PM

Go Canon.

NatalieK 12-27-2017 04:18 PM

brother or canon :thumbsup

Brother ... cheap wireless and works great .

Cheap toner on Amazon .

If it is not recognized by the printer, you have a sequence of buttons to depress to get it recognized .

There is no good printer. Just buy one and be glad it's cheap and disposable....because you'll be disposing of it after a few months.

Bladewire 12-27-2017 06:44 PM

I have used several printers over years, IMO Canon is best and HP is worst. :2 cents:

printers still exist?

HP was my favorite until I went through three in two years. Got one today to exchange for the defective one I bought in July. HP cheap printers use expensive ink. Expensive printers use cheaper ink.

I'll open this one tomorrow and test it. Best printer I had was the first HP laser printer. $1,800 back in the mid-90's with toner drum $150. Each lasted until 2008 when I got sick. If not dumped, they'd still work. Had two, each connected to two computers. Large sheet trays, too. Today they hold one hundred sheets which isn't enough.

Got a canon mx490 and I love it so far. Added to Google cloud so I can print from my phone or even from New York. Though, not sure why I'd want to. Though, I guess I do. I was able to print something and have my daughter drop it off at my mom's house.

Only issue, the display isn't backlit. So you need to have it in a well lit area to read the menu.

I swear by Brother HL-2135W. I have one at home, one at the office. I've had lots of printers over the years from various brands, but this is the only one I haven't wanted to smash with a clawhammer.

I have a Dell laser printer, connected to Google Cloud Print which enables me to print from phone, ipad and laptop whereever I now may be.

How about converting your current USB printer to a wireless one?
There's at least 3 ways to do it:

are there any non-wireless still in the market ?

bronco67 12-28-2017 07:19 AM

While we're on the subject...does anyone else get pissed that the ink cartridges seem to only last for a few prints before the "ink low" meter comes on? And the cartridges are ridiculously expensive. It's a big fucking racket they're running.

There's no way some fucking ink in a little plastic container should cost 35 bucks and run out so quick.
