Facebook has been keeping your deleted videos

So Facebook has been keeping videos that you deleted , even videos that you've created, never published & deleted. Facebook refuses to reveal if the videos were viewed by any of their employees or used in any way.

1) The company today blamed a bug for the error and promised to delete the clips

2) It also confirmed the deleted content was never publicly shared, although it remains unclear whether Facebook used the footage in any other way

Facebook Blames a 'Bug' for Not Deleting Your Seemingly Deleted Videos | Gizmodo

"Did you ever record a video on Facebook to post directly to your friend’s wall, only to discard the take and film a new version? You may have thought those embarrassing draft versions were deleted, but Facebook kept a copy. The company is blaming it on a “bug” and swears that it’s going to delete those discarded videos now. They pinkie promise this time."

Can Facebook be trusted with the nude photos they collected?

Facebook asks women to upload their nude images so they can protect them from revenge porn

Up until a few years ago their CDN was very basic, not requiring any authentication keys, and deleted objects could still be accessed for many more months via a direct URL.

Yeah I never trusted Facebook but had no idea they dealt in going 87 million users data to a Russian college instructor for use in manipulating our elections.

But keeping deleted personal videos, on top of everything else, without telling us if they've been viewed, indexed, etc creepy as hell.

I've only uploaded a handful of videos to FB and could care less.

Bet you had no problem when Obama harvested and used that data in 2012 :2 cents:
