The masses are harder to control when sex is easy. Sexually pent up citizens are easier for big brother to conttol.

I would say the opposite is true, and I think you know it.

When sex is easy, the masses become used to being easily satiated, and government can easily satiate them.

Just came here early to see if anyone had posted it. The IRS being involved brings up more than closure due to sex ads. The FBI and IRS makes me think of money laundering

Getting money back is easy if you used a credit card or PayPal....

I belong to a fetish site that just banned personal ads. They weren’t allowed but people posted them on their profile. Lots of FinDommes, escorts, and video models advertised. They’re based in Canada but are being proactive.

Escorts will now need their own site advertising a fetish model site with no mention of meeting. Plain vanilla escorts will need a gimmick to get noticed.

It’s the law but it’s 2018. If men, women, transvestites, transsexuals or others want to sell their body, let them. Safely, taxes paid, accountability, doctor-approval... set standards and legalize it. You can buy marijuana legally in some states. Pot can cause problems for many but sex is healthy.

Let’s go back to Puritanical America. Next will be no bikinis or shorts that don’t totally cover your ass and part of the thighs. Then no cleavage. No tight pants for men.

Backpage.com shuts down after reports of FBI raid

Sleazy classified site Backpage.com was shut down Friday after the FBI raided the home of its co-founder, according to new reports.

Agents raided ex-owner Michael Lacey’s home, according to a local CBS affiliate — while users are sharing screenshots of a message saying it has been “seized” by the feds.

“backpage.com and affiliated websites have been seized as part of an enforcement action by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division,” says the message shared by numerous sex workers across the US and Canada.

“Backpage has just been seized by the federal government and taken down. This is terrifying,” tweeted porn star Taste the Moon alongside the screengrab.

Others worried they won’t get money back from ads they’ve placed on the site, a popular marketplace for sex.

“So how much money do you think #backpage just stole from us? Thank you for getting rich off of us then kicking us while we’re down by changing the way we pay for ads, and pocketing our current balance,” wrote Miss Marla Moon.

Backpage has long been in the crosshairs of lawmakers, law enforcement and activist groups, who say its listings enable sex trafficking.

The Department of Justice and FBI didn’t immediately return a request for comment.

OH, I checked to see if it was online. I'm very curious what they hoped to find in the home, who was indicted and what triggered this investigation.

Prostitution vs soliciting I understand, but was he nailed for promoting prostitution? There are other sites that haven't stopped the ads yet. FinDommes have their own sites and many gay escorts and pornstars offer their services on their sites When I was healthy, I was working on a gay escort site. I figured I'd not be held liable but knew I needed my attorney's advice. As recently as last month I thought of doing it. Face pics only, text, low maintenance. Ha!

I still have it in mind but for all genders but never mentioning escorts, sex, money, intimacy or alluding to such activities. I think it would be a hard sell -- pardon the pun -- to get people there without using sex phrases. Horny guys aren't Googling for "women who will take my money to meet me but no sex exchanged, just get paid to meet me at a hotel." 😉

And, if prostitution is legal in certain locales, can websites run their ads or hosts run their sites? Will the Feds go after web hosts in the USA?

Things that make you go hmmmm....

The indictment is still sealed by the judge. But I believe it contains charges involving the facilitation of prostitution, money laundering, sex trafficking, possibly CP for the photos.

As for the other sites, I suspect that more will continue to shutter as the heat is increased or the traffic they were receiving from TER and Backpage dies off. Certainly some sites will rise by this but that will only increase their visibility and potentially make them a target.

Countries should tax prostitution just like Marijuana. It's not going to go away, why not make money from it.

It's worked in Holland and other countries for decades.
