True. Nevertheless it's a term that I've always used because I was raised in the South. I always thought Black People sounded more offensive than Colored People or Colored Folk. Now I'm being told by the MSM that Colored People is a racial slur and I wonder how many are truly offended by it.

I never know what to call people it seriously stresses me out. Mexican, Latino, Latin, asian, Oriental, black, African American. When race eventually comes up I'm always corrected at how to address people, even by other "white" people, and I always apologize, and they usually say something like "it's easy for you because you're white" and I'm like "No I'm Irish American"

But... I got my Ancestry DNA results back last week and it says I'm 76% Great Britain and 16% Irish/Scottish/Wales. Ancestry DNA's definition of Great Britain is Ireland, France, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Italy. So there's Irish overlay in my British ancestry on top of my Irish DNA? So WHAT THE FUCK?! Fine I'm white whatever.

I deal in making products for 3d sites and occasionally because I'm famous like I'll hang in these places and listen to what's going on, I'm there mainly to suss out what they want to buy. By FAR the most common greeting amongst young black males is...

The conversation then moved towards Mexicans easily crossing the border and she advised me she was Venezuelan and I corrected myself to say "Hispanics crossing the border" and she said they're actually referred to as Latinos nowdays and she's a Latina. So I apologized again lol It was akward but not negative or mean spirited.

Different people prefer to be referred to in different ways, white people included, no drama. I prefer to be called Irish American, not white. I'm going to take the 23andMe DNA test and see if it's more specific than Ancestry DNA. I know enough of my family history to know we immigrated from the British Isles in the 1700's and lots of tall Celtic redheads with blue eyes in the family line, like my father :D
