the real problem in syria is a fucking oil and gas pipeline what opens the oil/gas market directly to europe. this is why putin is also involved there because he wants to use this pipeline too.
who have the power in syria have the power over the complete european oil market.

assad rejected the construction of the pipeline from qatar through syria across the mediterranean sea to Europe in 2009 and 2011 the civil war started.
