"I remember counting on my fingers: 'One, two, three, four. There is no missing item,'" she recalled to The New York Daily News. Bedard said an employee continued to follow after her and her daughter even after they exited the store. "She kept following us and she tried to touch me, and I told her not to touch me — I told her she was harassing me," she said in an interview with ABC7. "I then took my phone out and tried to take her picture, and she tried to grab the phone, but I did take a photo of her and I said 'please leave me alone!'" It wasn't long until police arrived to the scene, Pix11 reported. The New York Police Department released a statement saying they responded to a report of "larceny ... article... |

Not smart to follow anyone out of the store. Hopefully there is a video of the store transaction. Instead of taking a picture, she should have turned on the video camera.
Mom’s an attorney yet wasn’t interviewed and had no comment?? Didn’t threaten a discrimination lawsuit?? If this is true, it’s not unusual. The media is just publicizing it more and more. It’s shocking because people think racism is a thing of the past. |

here in scottsdale they have no N-word zones (don't go there after dark). sedona is racist 24/7 |
Here we go again... more crying black people.

They asked to look in her bag and she said: NO, Fuck no,,,I being racially profiled. I need to get my kid a Starbucks Scholarship to amends for the wrong doing that has been done to us.

Damn this company is screwed coming back at them as they did. Right or wrong you can't defend your employees like this in 2018 and not think the backlash will follow.
The girl should not have followed her outside and if she thought she had stolen she should've confronted her after she thought she didn't come out of dressing room with all items. |

ID. If you’re black, it’s assumed you’re guilty, even if nothing is wrong. Before I was around, they had rioting in my city. I’m told they had curfews, no one out after 8 pm, no groups of color allowed to gather, etc. My father was forced to close his store at 7 pm. He had a lot of black customers and told to discourage them, he refused. Their money is green and that’s all that matters, he said. Black cop said he didn’t know what discrimination was, after dad said it was discrimination. “I’m a Jew. I know what discrimination is and I’m not banning your people because some can’t behave. Arrest me and I’ll drag you to court.” White cop intervened and they left. Black people rioted and tore up many projects. Those projects are still there but well maintained. Arrested? Evicted. Loud music? Three warnings then eviction. No bullshit allowed. People still hold grudges against black folks over that. I did a paper in high school on it and it began when police shot a black teen. Back then it was local news only. Today it reaches worldwide audiences. There are newspaper rumors of a lack of black cops due to discrimination which is ludicrous. ALL colors of cops are needed, particularly when 20% of the population are African-American/Cape Verdean. No ‘n’ zones? Seriously? Is that a “don’t be in this neighborhood after 8 as it’s dangerous” or “no ni**ers allowed” in our town? I’ve heard of blacks being forced to move for safety issues as neighbors didn’t want them there. I emailed a black attorney friend for his take on this. We get into long discussions of racism and he encounters it all the time being a black attorney. I keep reminding him that 22% of new students entering Harvard are black. Not all black people are the Evans from Good Times. |
south snottsdale is fine... once you cross thomas or so you are in the area. i stayed up at the hilton for a few nights working for a medical company. i walked to the store to get some snacks and things. A skinhead guy stops in the road and says wtf are you doing here?? i just kept walking. I had to test the theory that people were talking about in our local papers. the no n-word zone is true!
