Sounds like a fake news. I was in a neighbor grocery just yesterday and bought a bottle of beer. Actually there is about 20-30 various sorts of beer (not even mention wines, vodka, whiskey, gin, brandy, tequila, absent etc). Also on Saturday I was eating in the restaurant next to my home and been to a bar in the center of Moscow on Maroseyka street. I didn't notice any problem with beer in both places. The only thing I have to admit: prices in Moscow bars are higher than usually...

Moscow will never run out of two things: booze and whores ;)

I know that Brits drink like horses, but even these guys can't drain Moscow :pimp

Nothing unusual, some bars was simply not prepared enough to handle a lot of people at once. But that does'nt mean how entire city is running out of it. I still remember when there was first iteration of TES Prague, how hotel bar also runned out of beer so we had go to store for new ones.

Welcome then. Russian is visa-free to football fans within about a month.

Sly 06-20-2018 08:42 AM

The last 2 years in a row I went to the final UT home football games. Both times, good beer was completely out by halftime and a good chunk of the food was gone. Had to drink Coors Light and eat my brisket sandwich on a hot dog bun, LOL.

I would imagine events like this are difficult to plan for, especially for smaller establishments. They buy too much, they could really be in the hole.

Just aswell Scotland never qualified then...

The 3rd world people are using their football fan ID to enter Russia w/o visa and then move to the EU countries (usually via the Finnish order) to ask for political asylum and live on welfare.

IMHO that's a real serious reason why the World Cup should not be in Russia.

Just don't let the English know where that is, or it will end up looking like a war zone.

BTW, that's not a liquor store, but a regular grocery where people buy food. I've posted pics of the beer section only. There are about 7 such groceries in a 100 meter radius just near my home. So we are prepared well for the Brit's invasion and ready to hold a circular defense :winkwink:

Welcome to Moscow till Russia is visa-free :)

British fans about Russia:

And the food & alcohol prices in Moscow (1 ruble = $63 USD):

just a punk 06-21-2018 03:30 AM

Sorry for a stupid mistake. Course $1 USD = 63 rubles, not vice versa as I wrote in my post above :) So 39 rubles is about 60 US cents.

One bar ran out and the news ran with it :)

Some cities ran out, Nizhny Novgorod is an example.
Swedish fans can attest to that.

Moscow, not so much.
