I asked my programmers to look into doing this for Clay but it would take a considerable amount of time and cost alot (around $6000). Then again if the site was monetized properly I'm sure it would pay for itself quickly.

ClayM I have an idea for you: If what you need it for is a small business that you want to take your time growing, why not write it yourself? It looks like it could be written in a multitude of languages so if even if you are just a beginner, just start. It will take you some time but you'll get exactly what you want, and save money in the process.

Or if this isn't an option, maybe find a coder that can do it for you for a reduced price in exchange for some kind of partnership or revenue share. GFY is full of coders and people who know coders. I'm sure you'll find someone that you can work with at a price you want.

There are a few pre-built classified ads systems out there that with a little bit of effort, can be customized to do what he wants I'm sure, saving him some cash. Bryan's link to clonescripts looks pretty goo to me.
