Introducing the Kalashnikov CV-1, the Russian rival to Tesla
 

Kalashnikov, maker of the AK-47 assault weapon, unveiled its new "supercar," the CV-1, at a Russian defense show near Moscow Thursday.

According to media outlets reporting at a press event at the expo, a Kalashnikov media rep said the car will "let us stand in the ranks of global electric car producers such as Tesla."

cars are really not a Russian thing. airplanes, tanks, rockets, ships - fine. but cars...

whatever car was successful in Russia was a replica of a Fiat or Renault - and that "thing" won't change anything about that

Indeed, but... only civilian cars are total shit in Russia. The military or double purpose ones are quite good here. E.g. Kamaz (check the Dakar Rally winners list), GAZ Tigr, GAZ-3121, MAZ-6440, MZKT-79221 etc...

It's not Lada design. It's Moskvitch design of 1975. Moskvitch was yet another Soviet car factory which gone bankrupt in 2002.
