Creating a Tube with Embeds
Hello,
I've been wondering if sites can get plenty of search traffic by embedding the videos oppose to hosting the videos. I just keep thinking sites that actually host the video will outrank the embed sites. If anyone has any experience with this and would like to share some information it would be greatly appreciated. |
I have a handful of each type of sites that I use for feeders to my paysites. I've found that my hosted tubes do better with both SE traffic, as well as user interaction. They spend more time on site, and my bounce rate is much better when I host the videos, which is possibly why I do better with seo and get more SE traffic on hosted sites :)
The other thing that seems to make a huge difference is the amount of time spent on the pages, writing good titles and descriptions. After 30 - 60 days of spending more time on the words on my sites, I see steady growth. As oppose to when I just suck in 1000 videos and have the spinner create titles on the fly :( I think Google is smart enough to know that the sites using scrapers and text spinners aren't going to give the surfer what they are looking for any more! I picked up a copy of Dragon Speech for my laptop, and I can crank out 20 videos an hour with good fresh titles, tags, categories and 250 word descriptions. Good luck :thumbsup |

I thought perhaps it's because the embedded videos were stealing my clicks. I was just checking out wp-script's theme and it looks like they've partially addressed this issue by allowing some embed's depending on what site, to be played with a custom HTML 5 player that doesn't show the hosts ads. I thought to myself that perhaps this would increase the pages per visit since there would be fewer leaks. This is something I'll probably test and see. I couldn't agree with you more on creating unique titles and descriptions. The text that the scrapers pull has been used on thousands of sites. I wouldn't be surprised if Google doesn't do a checksum for a fingerprint on the videos to see if it's unique too. I suppose embedding videos have less risk as far as not hosting the videos and keeping the costs down, however on the downside produces less traffic. Cheers. |
