Ad networks/affiliate networks changing stats with no explanation?

Frequently across all the networks I work with I will see my stats change in ways that don't make sense

I've seen it with almost everyone I've promoted. Chaturbate, hubtraffic, exoclick, tubecorporate, everyone

What I'll see is that, the number of clicks and/or impressions they're crediting me for will change drastically in the timespan of a day or two, while my google analytics and other revenue sources don't change

On exoclick I've noticed that my impressions per day will change dramatically, while my clicks per day and revenue stays the same. So it doesn't seem like they're skimming or cheating, it just seems like they changed how they compute stats

Right now on chaturbate I'm being credited with like 30% more unique hits than I used to have. My traffic hasn't changed and signups haven't increased. They're just telling me I'm sending them more raw clicks than I used to. But I have no data on my end that would corroborate this.

Do any of you experience this? Do you have any insights why it happens?

I've noticed that I have days on some of my feeder sites that my GA numbers stay about the same, but my raw stats from the server will take a huge spike. I can match that up with cloudflare's stats, and it also shows a spike.

My assumption has always been that GA gives me a clearer number that actually represents surfers on the site, and filters most of the bot traffic out. Where as my server stats, and the CF stats are showing purley raw numbers, so it includes all the bot traffic along with normal surfers.

I think that would be in line with what you are saying, since your revenue doesn't change, just the number of raw hits/impressions.

Maybe they are getting an influx of one of the new assholes trying out a traffic bot to see if they can fool the systems?? Or a traffic bot that has gone off the rails and is running amok??

oh shit, that could 100% be it, your average bot isn't gonna be running javascript (ie google analytics) or generating revenue but they will be counted as hits by some programs

thanks

Babe -

Can you explain what you mean here? Are you taking about the verify code that you plug in for webmaster tools ?? I'm as ignorant as the day is long, so you have to explain it to me :1orglaugh

Thanks!
