Introduction and some questions on being an affiliate for paysites
 

Hi! I'm new here and figured I'd roll my introduction and asking for help into one thread.

About me: I'm a software developer and have used making my site as a way to learn about web development and related things like managing servers.

About my site: peachdb is a database of web scenes where it is easy to find scenes done by a specific performer with a few preview images of the scene.
There is also a feed of the latest scenes, and search functionality.
If things go well, I would also like to make a free API available with terms like TheMovieDB where users of the api would have free access as long as they display the peachdb logo.

I've sorta been making the site for myself so the target audience leans more toward technical users: fast page loads, minimal javascript, non intrusive ads, no client side tracking, etc.

Monetization:

• On each scene page there is an affiliate link to the scene on the paysite
• There are also some affiliate links to chaturbate rooms on the main page as native ads

I don't expect it to make much money, but if it covers the hosting costs I would be pretty happy.


I only work on this in my spare time, so there are a few bugs and a production site probably won't happen for a few months.
I'm also lazy so the site only supports modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge. Haven't tested on Safari yet...

Now for some questions I have:

• Is what I'm doing with the paysite content ok copyright wise? Using their preview images/text to promote their scenes seems like it would be ok?
• I'm also assuming it's ok to show different sites content under a performer's page / latest page? Not sure if affiliate terms would forbid this.
• Eventually I would like to show images of the performer on their pages. Would I be able to ask paysites like brazzers if I could use their photos for that? (giving credit underneath the image)

I hope to contribute a bit more here instead of just leeching. Very new to adult industry stuff, so I'll probably only end up in more technical threads for now.

Every paysite has their own rules. so contacting them and asking never hurts, but in general
that is correct


Same thing, if you are not sure, ask the program (from which you use the image) but in general, aslong as the image links to the sponser/program it is fine


same answer again, in doubt, hit someone up (by skype for example)
but in general, if you link the image to the affiliate program, you should be good
