Trumpsters...do any of you like driving foreign cars?

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/...mmerce-1228344

He wants to jack up the price on all foreign cars by thousands of dollars without understanding the possible consequences when every country retaliates by doing the same thing to American exported cars. Does knowing that you may need to shell out extra dollars for that BMW (or in some cases a Honda) loosen your lips grip on that tiny orange mushroom dick?

I think the biggest foreign market is china, I know GM is really big over there, I think GM has more or less left south america over market instability. the market in europe for gm is small, in fact GM just pulled out...

if bmw and the japs want to sell they cars here they will have to eat profit margin or build them here.

I see you are still fascinated by the cock, carry on :thumbsup

btw the news source you are using is a joke, seems more like facebook. I'm thinking crockett wrote the content on the site :2 cents:

I went back to american. Not because they were american, but bigger, things fit, you can pack your dog, fishing poles, suit cases, and drive. We had an x3 and went for an x5 and now it’s a dodge. Same price ironically

bronco67 03-20-2019 09:16 PM

I do like the new Dodge Challenger. I'm thinking about getting one as my next vehicle.

Trumps certainly got to raise taxes somehow, the extra tax YOUR paying on Chinese imports despite Trump saying are filling the coffers, still needed him to borrow a TRILLION just to balance the books.

And if any of you bothered to read the Fed reports today GDP is falling like a rock, your being bankrupted...

Trump said.. "Expect four, five or six per cent GDP growth rates once my tax cuts, increased spending, trade policies and deregulation would will deliver. "

Reality is..

Fed officials now expect growth of only 2.1 per cent this year and 1.9 per cent in 2020

Everything needs to be taxed or costs slashed by trillions... because trump is blowing your money on????

Yarp. Trump duck riders should be getting sore asses about now...

China sells a car in the US - 2.5% tarriff.

The US sells a car in China - 25% tarriff. (recently lowered to 15)

Bronco you are clueless, but we already knew that :2 cents:

I don't know what kind of Chinese made cars there are in Russia but here in America there are none. Of course if you actually lived here like you pretend you do you would already know that.

Volvo, Land Rover are both Chinese owned and made now.

^^ Fred wouldn't know that Volvo sedans are made in China and sold in the US, or that some "American" cars are actually built in China and shipped here (the US, where I live.) He only made it to 10th grade and is too poor to follow the auto markets. :1orglaugh

1. Trump doesn't want to jack up the price of European cars. He wants NO tarriffs on either side. An equal playing field.

2. I love European sports cars...especially old classics from the 1950's and 1960's... those cars are pieces of rolling art.

SilentKnight 03-21-2019 10:04 AM

The wife and I each drive Kia's.

My Optima's built in Korea. Her Serento built in Georgia.

A real dilemna for Trump, huh?

Fair enough :1orglaugh

I'm in the market for a new cars and I won't buy something made in China. It will be made in Canada, US or Europe... My wife was interested in a Land Rover but we don't want something with Changshu, Jiangsu stamped on it, just doesn't seem right. :disgust

Most of them do build them here already...

Reagan did the same dumb tarrifs thing on autos in the 80s

We ended up with less variety and 20 years of shitty American made cars because they didnt have to build good cars..

In the 70s -80s there was a shit loads of different cars available here in the US that ended after Reagan's stupid tarrifs.

Back in the 70s early 80s you could buy little VW diesel trucks that got 40mpg. You could get Toyotas, Nissians and even Mazdas with diesels.

There were all kinds of variety b4 Reagan... Then it turned to nothing but shit ass GM, Ford and Chevy trucks that went to the junkyard at 100k miles and the cars were even worse...

Now Trump wants to do the same all because you right wing morons never learn from your failed past..

BaldBastard 03-21-2019 10:56 AM

I don't think China will have any issues lowering or dropping the Auto tariff.. as they've been saying for the past 4 years. I'd guess initially it was done to get Automakers to setup there.. and they have. China is now the biggest Auto market in the world and is set to expand by 75% in the next 15 years, where as America is a declining market.. your just another small country compared to them, the only growth hope the American Auto industry has.. is to sell to Chinnaa.

And if you think by making a car in the USA and then shipping it 7000 miles your going to be able to compete in the Chinese market... good luck!

I don't see any there. If the car is built in the U.S. it has no tariff. And if South Korea and other countries drop their tariffs on U.S. manufacturers...your Optima won't have one either.

That's the whole point of this. Not to have tariff's forever...but to pressure these other countries into taking down THEIR big ass tariff's on our auto makers.
