The little white X is my hometown. Stormcells are moving east at roughly 35mph. The wind here is incredible, and there's alreadybeen a helluva series of tornadoes in Kansas and Nebraska from this thing. It's picking up speed and strength, and has dropped several tornadoes on TN so far.

Please, those of you in Kansas and Nebraska, give a shout so that we know you're all right.

This could make for an interesting evening over my way. :(

Cute. Having grown up out here and having more common sense than most Tennesseans, I reside in a brick HOUSE.

Although if the shit hits the fan, husband and I are going to haul ass to the college and hide in the basement of the University Center. We don't have a basement. :(

Luckily, it missed me southcentral Kansas. All we had today was strong winds. 100 miles east (and beyond) of us was in a tornado watch for most of the evening.

:thumbsup

NWS just issued our first tornado watch, until 5am CDT.

Well, I'll be up all night. Anyone else?

Glad that you're okay, Kansas was hit hard again this evening...

We have one of those at the gym where i work, and you can hear that sumbitch all over the place!

The local sirens are loud too, and I am a subscriber to the Weather Channel's "NOTIFY" system. When a severe thunderstorm warning is issued, I get emails. When a tornado warning is issued, I get a phone call. Since no one ever calls us after 9 pm here, we know that when the phone rings at night it's a serious matter.

I'll look into one of those radios, though. My husband says I'm paranoid about the weather, but I've lived through 4 tornados myself, and it's a phenomenon that scares the shit out of me.

I'm glad you are playing it safe

you will be fine because you are

aware of what's going on around

you, it's the people who have no

clue or think it will not happen to

them! Glad I got to chat with you

I will stay up and watch the weather!

Sometimes people here in Kansas take

a pill to relax them during severe weather

I know I have a few on hand.....if you feel

to stressed during severe weather I would

talk to you Doctor, tramatic events can bring

on panic attacks or post tramatic stress disorder!

Lexi

Thanks. I usually don't sleep at night when there's such a threat on the radar screen..so I doubt that I'll be sleeping tonight. With all the thunder and lightening, now might be a good time to sign off the computer, though...I'll talk to you later, hon.

MUCH LOVE! :)
