Didn't even matter tho, she would still be entitled to 50%. This is why i've been with my girl for 15 years and I'm still not married. I have a friend that make 150k a year that's living with his parents because he has to pay child support, maintain his former house and pay alimony. Dude has like $200 bucks a week left over after he pays his gas/car insurance/ cell bill etc. He would be homeless if he didn't have his parents.

Your "friend" isn't very smart :2 cents:

One of the most BASIC tenants of a judge deciding alimony amounts is BOTH people being able to live as close to their previous lifestyle as possible, NOT being inequitable with one almost homeless living with parents and the other living in a house and having everything paid for.

If the judge can't find a way for them both to equitably live basically the same lifestyle then the judge decides on how to make them both feel the "financial pain" equally.

Yeah but if you actually read, she didn't take half and gave him full voting control of stock shares.

Your friends story is a horrific one. Even though 150K a year is a strong financial foundation I can't believe he's left with measly $200 a week.

It's truly messed up on so many levels, fucked up...:2 cents:

Jeff Bezos can throw away 35 times more money than Donald Trump will ever earn. Who is the real self made man?

Not hard to believe, I have a friend paying 8k / month in alimony, he won't even tell me how much the child support is. Not much left for himself either.

We're not talking about me, dickhead. By the way, there's no such word as tax's.

I would say Trump. Bezos did it with crony wall street money and inflated stock prices.

Bezos started from the ground up and is now worth over $151 Billion and everyone in America uses at least one of his products

I'm curious, what are those numbers mainly based on?

Bezos created something which in ingrained in the lives of almost everyone in the world and is worth 100 times more than Donald trump has ever been worth. Donald Trump inherited daddy's money, bought some property, filed for bankruptcy many times, is in debt up to his eyeballs and has left a trail of destruction everywhere he goes.

Are you saying that the so called Trump Empire of just slapping your name on something is a bigger achievement than creating a worldwide selling platform and entertainment network worth over 100 billion dollars? Now we know you're a fucking idiot. You obviously don't know the definition of self-made. Bezos started from almost nothing. Trump had a rich dad's head start and is still in the shitter at 72. Trumps don't invest or buy... they borrow.

She not worth it. No woman is.

With one thousand dollars you can have a threesome with two girls ten times hotter than Lauren Sanchez. With billions you could fuck a yacht full of cheerleaders and strippers every night for the rest of your life.

it's different for each state but they usually just have an alimony calculator. They plug in your earnings, how long you were married, and out comes a number that you have to pay.

But before I go into this, keep in mind the divorce rate here is something like 50%. So this is a common occurrence.

Check this out in Massachusetts.

I used this calculator here. I put in $2000 a week gross income which is roughly $100k a year. And with 10 years of marriage, you would have to pay $600-700 a fucking week for 72 months (6 years). PLUS, let's say you were putting $25k away a year for retirement, 1/2 of that goes to her too. Paid off your house? She's getting half of that too. Maybe a relative died and left you a 500k house? She gets half of that too.

And this is without kids! Imagine marrying someone who sat on their ass, didn't blow you, gained 50lbs, nagged at you - now you gotta pay her $700 a week for 60 months, give her $125k of your hard earned retirement money you saved, plus half of the house you paid off and whatever other assets you accrued.

Marriage is dangerous for men. Even if you "marry up" meaning you marry someone with a high earning potential, they'll always want kids. And when they have kids they will stop working.
