Trump supporter kills his wife then himself over medical bills

They killed themselves over their medical bills and now they're family stuck with the bill paying for their funeral. Sad

This is what happens when you vote against your own best interest.

Trump voter kills his wife then himself over medical bills

The sister of a man who killed his wife and then himself in a San Souci home Wednesday night said he did it because he couldn't stand to see his wife suffer any longer.

Officers found the couple dead in their home on Goltare Drive about 3:30 p.m. when a man called 911 to report that he had shot his wife and was prepared to take his own life.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office won't identify the victims, but family members said John and Gwendolyn Thombleson died in the home. The husband's sister said after the wife had surgery eight months ago, her health began declining rapidly and she developed several health conditions, including dementia.

The medical bills were piling up, and neighbors told News4Jax that John Thombleson had said their insurance was expiring, leaving them no way to pay for the mounting expenses.

According to police, officers sent to the home made numerous attempts to contact the people inside but the attempts were unsuccessful.

Eventually, members of the SWAT team entered the home, finding the man and woman in a bedroom.

The couple were high school sweethearts and had been married 47 years. John Thombleson was retired and Gwendolyn Thombleson worked for the school district.

This was not a domestic dispute, according to the family. They said they tried to help as much as they could during the time when the wife's health was deteriorating.

Family members called this a mercy killing and said that John Thombleson was motivated by his love for his wife.

The neighbor who lives across the street said the last time he spoke with John Thombleson, the conversation was about the couple potentially losing their home because of their mounting medical bills.

Drazen Klacer, another neighbor, said he never noticed any red flags.

“He was nice guy, older guy, ready to retire," Klacer said.

Lisa Veres, a third neighbor, was shocked to hear about what happened.

"You don’t hear of anything like this happening in this neighborhood," Veres said. "We’ve lived here for so long and my husband’s family has lived here for so long, and everybody is just so quiet and so sweet."

The family is planning the funeral arrangements.

If Republicans in FL had voted to approve the medicare expansion he would not of had to kill his wife & himself over loss of insurance..

2 More dead people at the hands of Republicans & Trump.

Republicans who cried about Obamacare death panels didn't say that they would be the one's in charge of the death panels..

From the comments...

" We have our death panels in this country - denial of health care. " Thanks Republicans

The difference for this man in voting for Hillary or Trump was a life or death decision.. but hey "both parties are the same"

OneHungLo 05-06-2019 06:02 PM

Of course no party affiliation was mentioned. Other libs will be silent and cheer on desperate bladewire.

I dont know who was voted for or whatever, and I didnt read the whole thing...

But, Dafuq? Why not just not pay the bills?

I'd fuck my credit all up and go into all kinds of debt before I ever thought of offing myself.

These people are genetically feable.

onwebcam 05-06-2019 06:17 PM

I thought Obama fixed this? WTF?

A friend of mine has a twenty-one year old son who was struck by a car when he was walking. He was in a coma for over a week, is barely speaking, and is missing part of his skull. The medical bills are already in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and will most likely top out at millions of dollars...... And he will most likely need medical care for the rest of his life.

This should NEVER be allowed to happen.

The guy is old probably retired and living on social security or barely enough retirement to get by. FL property taxes as well as home insurance has gone up dramatically over the last 10 years..

Maybe he used to have enough to get by with a little extra but you add in the increases of property taxes, home insurance then you start dealing with medical issues, co pays for treatment, meds... there is no end to the bills that keep comming from hospitals and doctors..

Even if his insurance covered a lot he's still comming out of pocket for thousands of dollars with no abilty to pay it...People get hit with all this shit and now they are losing their house.. he knows its never going be better so he chooses suicde.. This happens a lot

Don’t you or didn’t you live in Florida?

“Florida's homestead exemption that provides an exemption from forced sale before and at death are among the most protective in the United States as it provides no limit to the value of certain real property that can be protected from creditors.”

Nobody is taking your home in Florida

...oh wait I forgot you live in a van down by the river.

Unaffordable medical bill is a reason to kill in the USA :(

RedFred 05-07-2019 04:21 AM

Trump supporter or not it's a sad story. Imagine being in that situation while you have Trump and the Republicans doing everything they can to take what little health care away that they have. It is a subtle and silent genocide aimed at the sick and poor.

I am in the "shit is cheap in my country I refuse to pay 4$/month for basic insurance" system...shit is so cheap I do not understand why health insurance exists...its like air insurance or water insurance...you do not insure that shit...you just buy it or take it...

I think your full of shit.. Cali has cheaper rates than FL it wouldnt be that bad unless you were making a lot of money and I still think it would never be possible to be $1k / month..

Considering the problems you had dealing with the fire I don't believe you are making that level of income.

The average bronze plan price in California is $287/month

You are lying your ass off claiming its $1k. For it to cost you $1k/ month you'd have to be making a few hundred thousand a year. You clearly aren't making 6 figures if you couldn't bail yourself out after the fire...

Your rates are nearly $100 cheaper than what I can get here in Florida so stop your fucking lying..

It's way too easy to fact check you.

Facts ..

https://www.kff.org/health-reform/st...by-metal-tier/

If you notice all the Republican run red states have the highest costs in most cases because they wanted Obamacare to be too expensive so they didnt take the Medicare expansion and did everything possible to make the prices high..

Facts are facts and the proof is in the pudding

That's not 600%

That's 308%

Your numbers aren't at all consistent with our premium structure here in California, especially for your financial situation the last 2 years where you'd tap into medicaid :2 cents:

You're another fucking liar.. You live in your car and can't get a job.. If you lived in any state that took the Medicare expansion (ie not Florida) you'd be paying next to nothing..

The reason you can't afford health insurance is because you voted Republicans against your own basic needs.

Another hateful low IQ response from you.

GET A JOB!

You are on public assistance

You are morbidly obese

You are unemployed

And how do you decide to spend your time during the day?

You spend your time online insulting people instead of looking for work and losing weight.

You say people on public assistance are socialist and here you are taking public assistance!

Why don't your own rules apply to you? Why do you only apply them to black people and Hispanics?

Everything I have said in this post is a fact that you have told us.

health care costs in the US are insane. y'all need to take a rusty pickaxe, some gasoline and a match to the entire system

when I got my appendix out in Canada years back it cost me $1 CAD, for the diet coke my dad bought me at the vending machine. yes I paid taxes that helped supplement that 'free' surgery but nothing unreasonable, just part of the cost of living in a society where getting sick doesn't leave one destitute

even when I had a rather significant surgery in an emerg trip to Jamaica back in 2016 (way before I moved here) it cost me about 5k USD out of pocket I think. Including the emerg air transport from Turks and Caicos. there I did have some insurance, but that only covered about 3k extra. so around 8k total to save my life if I'm recalling those numbers correctly

from what I've read US health care costs can vary dramatically without insurance, but chances are if I was in the US I'd be still paying off one or both of those bills

in Belize, check-ups and doc visits in my village were free. got stitched up there after I bashed my head on some rocks in a huge wave and the only thing I paid was a tip to the doc who sewed me up to put towards buying the scrip drugs they handed out for free to those who needed them

still though, I think some people are using an individual tragedy to score a cheap political point

no doubt the debt and cost of health care was a stressor, but is that why he did what he did?

in an article about this it mentions that his wife was dealing with a range of ailments, one of which was dementia. an awful condition in the later stages that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy if I had one

it's a nightmare that only just gets worse. my beloved MIL has it to the point that most days she doesn't even recognize me or confuses me with her youngest sister who died decades ago. she remembers her sons occasionally, on a good day. other days she just stares at the wall talking incomprehensibly or worse, is afraid of us. my boy and his bro and I handle her care and each time we visit her we sob like fucking babies after. it never gets normal, it never gets easier

for that alone, I kinda get why he did what he did. I don't think it was the right thing to do, but I understand it. from what I read theirs was a loving, life long partnership and I can't even fathom what it would feel like to stand helpless, watching your partner slip away is such a horrible way

your health 'care' system is objectively fucked up. highly doubt money was the main issue here is all I'm saying
