Do you ever go out for a walk, and look for secret signs and symbols...
That show you where to go next? It can be an actual sign you spot, or some graffiti, twigs on the floor, a shape in the bark of a tree, or even just the shape in a water stain on the side of a building, etc etc... Then, you follow whatever your perception of that sign is, in whatever direction seems appropriate and look out for your next message? You keep doing this and time becomes irrelevant as you get caught up in the storyline that you are creating for yourself, and before you know it you can end up miles away from where you start with no idea how you got there and then when you have to explain to the police what you are doing, you realise that it really doesn't really make any sense anymore, but that it really did at the time?

When I was a kid and learned the "free mason" shenanigans, I was looking everywhere for signs... and found them.
All that other shit is in God's hands for me. |
I look for garbage cans and chimneys that I can poo in.

Part of the fun is deciding on a theme for the adventure. For example, sometimes I go on a 'Harry Potter' walk, where all the signs and symbols I try to find are things that are at home within the Potter universe. Likewise, should I go on a 'James Bond' style mission, then I'll look for secret agent spy type stuff to direct me to my next location...
