WordPress Theme Needs One Tweak
 

I just grabbed a free theme for a blog. It’s perfect except that the sidebar is on the right and I want it on the left side.

Before amnesia I could do this with my eyes closed. Now the code looks like prehistoric Mesopotamia writing. Is anyone willing to spend five minutes on changing the code to place the sidebar on the other side?

I can provide you the link to get the free theme. If you don’t want to give them your email address, I can email you the theme. I never sell, give, lease or rent email information ever. I rarely keep it in my address book after we’ve finished. Or, best scenario, you can tell me the code to change and I can do it myself if that’s easier for you. I’m thinking that it’s two lines of code and you change the start and the end only. Technically, nothing else is going to be changed if I remember right.

The theme is very basic and simple with no graphics to go around and no fancy spacing or special boxes.

How do you know you could do it with your eyes closed before the amnesia?

I remember coding my themes and making changes to themes that I bought. I’d learn to do things by reading help forums and playing around with code. I learned shorthand and that’s harder than html/css.

Done daily, you just pick it up like learning to spell. I’m planning to learn the code and keeping a list of all commands. Eventually, I hope that it sticks by working on the site daily.

You adjust to your circumstances. Better than giving up.

Hey Pam, Does the theme have an option for where the sidebar goes?. All the themes I use have that option under the layout options.

I haven’t installed it yet but the description doesn’t say it’s an option. Later tonight I’m going to try to install it from my iPad. Otherwise I’ll do it tomorrow from my laptop. I have four potential themes including 2015 and that only needs color tweaking.

I looked at literally four hundred themes last night and most have the under-header boxes for text. I’m afraid removing them would break the code.

I sent you a PM earlier in the week. I forgot about this until looking for another thread.

Check your messages and let me know. I have no memory of the theme or url. I’m thinking that I have it in email to myself and will check tomorrow. The basic theme layout is in memory.
