Advice from Web/Software Devs

If one wanted to get into creating full scale platforms such as manyvids, modelcentro, onlyfans, pornhub. Creating them from scratch. Is it pointless to learn java/python/ruby. or can you simply get by using front end languages/frameworks? (node?)

I am being told by devs you wouldn't need to know these languages and I am struggling to see how you don't need any backend knowledge for the types of web applications we create in this industry

Sorry for my ignorance on the topic.

Whole thing could probably be done in node/html/js but sounds like a pain in the ass. IMHO It would be easiest using a backend language like python/php/ruby

From what I know about software coding, php is more web based. Do you see these large scale platforms being limited by using php vs a language such as Python/Ruby? I know platforms such as wordpress were create with php, sure. But this is also a very old product. They've expanded on that product a great deal. elementor for example. php as well? i feel like i suspect it wouldn't be
