Let's play... "What's in the Box?" (pic)

Something is arriving shortly, to help me celebrate a slightly belated (by 3 days) 20th Birthday ! Something that was 20 years old a few days ago... Can you guess what it is???

Pic will be posted as soon as it arrives :)

Here's a clue... I'm gonna hold it in my hand and play with it... Just like you all did with yours, or if you didn't have one yourself, then you played with someone else's... :upsidedow

Nearly... I got one of those a week or so ago...

Those would be 30 years old now... I'm talking 20 :)

But, very much along the right lines though... Quite close :thumbsup

The Dreamcast came out on 9/9/99, so that's my guess :upsidedow

Whoops ! You are correct regarding the dreamcast date, however, unfortunately, I am incorrect in my 20 years... I was 3 years out... What Im talking about was released in 1996... Sawwwrrrrry...

Maybe if Sonic was on the N64. Games definitely run faster, though. :upsidedow

Well, bit embarrassed to say now really. It was supposed to be an original N64 controller with a mayflash adapter, but instead it was just a generic USB cheapo version made by 'INNEXT' instead.

I tried it out anyway, if only out of curiosity, but it doesn't work and isn't recognised as an N64 Controller by ANY of my devices, so its being returned tomorrow. Amazon have accepted the return so I'll just chalk it up to my over enthusiastic expectations....

If it seems too good to be true... etc... Yeah, I was duped, but Im not out of pocket and will live to fight another day :)

Well, they did end up making Sonic games for Nintendo systems starting with the Gamecube, and PlayStation/Xbox. So you were close. :winkwink:

Back when I was a kid, we didn't have USB everything, for me to use a SNES controller on my PC I had to take a DB25, SNES extension cable, a few resistors(might have been diodes, I don't remember..), and a very steady hand to make my own that plugged into a printer port. Fun times. :upsidedow
