What do you reckon the catch / scam is?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076C45S44

You cant even purchase the graphics card on its own for that price?

Sly 10-09-2019 03:39 PM

The insides are covered in poo.

While disastrous to most, this is your dream come true!

CurrentlySober 10-09-2019 03:57 PM

Seriously though, the i7 costs more that the entire computer to buy on amazon on its own, same as the graphics card - Too good to be true is coming to mind - I really tempted - Amazon guarantee and all that... But don't want the hassle if its something really obvious that I'm missing?

I mean: 65% Off? Save £976.95? There's gotta be a catch?

CurrentlySober 10-09-2019 04:01 PM

Oh well, off to bed now - If its still available when I wake up tomorrow, and there's no real reason not to do so, posted in this thread, then I'll click 'Buy Now' lol

First review titled "not as expected"

Quote:

Processor tech specs listed as 5GHz but was infact a 3.6GHz overclocked to 4.8GHz

The listed Corsair DDR4 3000MHz SDRAM which shows as Corsair Vengence in Advert Picture but what it came with was actually 1200MHz Dual channel RAM from some other company

Cooler in Picture shows as RGB compatible but variant supplied is not RGB compatible

So I give 3stars just because it arrived promptly and it worked, but definitely not as Advertised or as shown in picture

CjTheFish 10-09-2019 10:17 PM

Not sure where you are seeing the price on the i7 either. Seems to be about a $300-$350 processor on its own with the GPU coming in at around $500

lock 10-10-2019 12:44 AM

All built on the same board would be my guess as look like no cards in it anyway. The graphics card looks like it is there.

Tubevideditor 10-10-2019 01:15 AM

That graphics card can be bought for under 400 quid. The 2080TI's are the £1000+ ones

CurrentlySober 10-10-2019 01:40 AM

Well moot point - I should have taken the chance - This morning its now become Price:£1,199.95 and its now available on prime... I thought the catch might have been that it was sent from china and if I wanted it within a reasonable time, Id have to pay a huge delivery fee - But never mind - as they saying goes - "You snooze, you loose' and I snoozed and lost... :(

I think the opposite, to me looks like you dodged a bullet

was on here yesterday with my own computer stuff and already had Amazon open when I read your thread. was in buyer mode myself so instinctively looked at the seller and his name was Jump. Han Jump or Hun Jump, not sure of the first name, with an address in China you saw as well

now check your link again, the seller at the new price/on prime is the actual company, ADMI

wonder if the co/Amazon caught the scam and took over the listing?

whatever happened, don't think you missed out on anything

adultinnovation 10-10-2019 03:18 AM

don't be noobs, only buy parts then assemble

MatureKing 10-10-2019 03:22 AM

If you are buying PC, make sure you have enough brain to collect it all

Yes, but that was my point. Even If I wanted to assemble, I couldn't have bought the i7 processor and the graphics card, for LESS than it was being offered for sale for...

CurrentlySober 10-10-2019 05:46 AM

Its fucking gone back down in price again now, and the sellers still ADMI !

Now its back to full price again. It appears they sell a certain amount via prime, then they drop the price for about 3 or 4 more without prime, then it goes back up again... Strange...

What price did it go down to as I only saw it for £1,199.95?

Last night when I made the OP it was the exact same spec PC but it cost about £530.00
It said 65% Off Save £976.95 but that was from some chinese seller

Then this morning when I went to order it, it was about £1600.00 then its dropped back to £530.00 again. This wasn't from the Chinese seller - This was from the UK branch of the business located in England. Went back to get it now and it's at 1,199.95. Its fluctuating as I look at it...

Literally really weird - Im gonna start doing screen grabs...

Ahh, ignore my post earlier about £400 card price then.
That is weird at £530 and must be some sort of scam or typo.

I was going to say the same thing :thumbsup

Most of the time when you see a deal on a computer or parts online, it's really shitty or not what they say...

For example, some might just say i7, there are a lot of different i7's. Mine is 4 years old and 8 cores.

bulk deals always allow a full set up to be purchased at deal prices...

and as said above, some of the spec is not accurate, overclocking to get the 5ghz etc :2 cents:
