A nice list of films judging by the trailers. Definitely something worth watching.

I loved it. Not sure why it's bombing like it is. It's the best Terminator movie since the first two movies.

Same here. Apparently it's getting good reviews from critics and audience members but ticket sales are lower than expected. Personally I just feel like I've lost interest in the franchise. I may go if I have nothing else to do otherwise will wait to see it on Netflix like Grapey.

Really? Can you say why that is without spoilers?

He was definitely involved, but made an effort to stay off of the set and let the director he hired do what he hired him to do. But that didn't stop them from seeing things differently.

Here's a good interview with JC from Deadline.

What annoyed me was I felt the trailer itself gave away far too many spoilers...

it's a bad sign when all the action is in the trailer for sure. :2 cents:

amazing how none of that is true. Maybe if you actually wandered into public from time to time you would realize the world seems to be getting on fine outside of your own political echo chamber.

Attendance has been down and going down for years. Theater owners are trying to come up with new and exciting thing to get people’s attention and get them back into the theaters. Everything he said above said is true. If you’d like to talk to one of the guys I make movies with who manages a Regal theater here in town. He’d tell you the same thing.

Basically it's a re-worked version of the StarTrek TOS 'Requiem for Methuselah' (also written by Jerome Bixby).

Terminator was really good

jscott 11-06-2019 12:01 AM

@Grapesoda, i've seen "The man from earth" i liked it a lot, even how slow and non action it is.
It reminds me of the Tommy Lee Jones & Samuel L Jackson movie "Sunset Limited" (not as good imo but still pretty interesting)

wtf are you talking about? look at the numbers on captain marvel. no one really liked it because they forced a woman on the part for political correctness. (a real shame for the actress, she's pretty good) there is ONLY one important factor in films and that is BOTTOM LINE.

celandina 11-07-2019 09:14 AM

I did listen to your advice and " dialed up" the "Debt Collectors".... the trailer looked good. Then I saw Ehud Bleiberg ( I know him for years) as a producer on the head credits, yet still gave it a chnace....About 20 minutes in I gave up.... This B - movie has everything good in 90 second trailer. The rest? Not so good.:2 cents:

Yeah they are B movies. I did say not to bad. Thing is I'm not looking for the meaning of my life from some jerkoffs film. I like the productions. Good light, good sound. Decent writting and acting get me in. I find it relaxing to have good productions running in the BG while I do stuff. I fast forward through lame plot development

Hey I have made some B movies and when they go "by" on some cable, I say...WhoTF made this crap and then I realize....oops...me :1orglaugh Anyway keep looking maybe there will be a gem among them....I will check them all...:thumbsup

Grapesoda 11-08-2019 10:16 AM

A buddy of mine used to grip for a company that made mock busters. After a Blockbuster film came out they would make like a cheap copy of it.

Like titantic 2 and stuff like that lol

You still making movies where are you located

No, I think they cast a woman for the part because the character is a woman.

The original Captain Marvel (Mar-vell guy with the white hair and bracelets that swapped places with Rick Jones) died of cancer - one of the only comic book characters to die and stay dead.

Incidentally, IMDB ranks it 7.0/10 (370,976 votes)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4154664/

I think the reason movie theater's are struggling is what's coming out of Hollywood. Special effects are no substitute for a good story. And when you're asking people to invest their time and money into something that has a 50/50 shot at actually entertaining, more people are content to wait until it comes out on netflix/redbox.

My picks for lesser known but really good movies:
Brotherhood of the Wolf

The Changeling
