People who have "gender reveal" parties

Are cunts... :2 cents:

Seems to be more and more of a thing now. I thought the main thing about giving birth was that the child is healthy.

Why the fuck would anyone feel the need to host a 'gender reveal' party, other than to grab as much attention as they can ??

Bah !! :disgust

baddog 11-13-2019 10:10 AM

To know what kind of clothes to buy; for a boy or girl.

You don't need to host a party for that though surely ?

Whatever happened to phoning someone and saying "hey, we are having a baby boy/girl".

I always thought a "gender reveal party" was a LGBT-gay thing. "Hey everybody! I'm now a GIRL!!!"

Sounds like one right ??

But nah it seems to be more and more common now for people to do the whole "hey we need more attention" when about to have a child. So they have a party now, all just because it's either a boy or girl.

Like i say, i always thought the main thing was that the kid was healthy first and foremost but I guess society today demands much more than that.

People need those facebook/Instagram likes after all.... :Oh crap:Oh crap

Rochard 11-13-2019 10:55 AM

It seems having a child is a completely different experience than when I had a kid.... Now we have gender reveal parties, and huge elaborate baby showers...

No, you don't NEED to, but surely you can't have an issue with throwing a party? Every Friday you start a weekend drinking thread. :winkwink:

You don't think baby showers have been going on for over 50 years?

Are you sure its not a fake gender reveal? I was sure adults only do this when they decide to insult everybody's intelligence and make them pretend they are now a different gender...

AmateurFlix 11-13-2019 05:33 PM

Just the other day on one of the more interesting online groups I participate in, a poster was asking if anyone knew what chemicals he could add to tannerite to make either a blue or a pink explosion.

I think the reveal format he had in mind is about the only thing that could possibly pique my interest in a gender reveal "party"

VRModelPhotography 11-14-2019 04:21 AM

We don't have them yet in Belgium ... but American trends do tend to fly over here. I like the concept ... I like the fun movies on youtube ... but if someone invites me to one I would probably find an excuse not to go. :-)

Manfap 11-14-2019 05:39 AM

When my kid was born, we didn't want to know what it was going to be.

Freaked out my mother in law, she could just not accept we didn't want to know.

Den BongaCash 11-14-2019 06:21 AM

I also don't understand the parties for when the baby is 1, 2, 3 and so on months old. And of course, this has to be documented every month on all social media.

we just had one. my wife wanted it. its our first kid and the next generation for both our families. we invited our families and close friends, we didn't ask for gifts or anything. it was legit just a big weekend party that we also included 2 mins of finding out if it was a boy or girl with a confetti gun 10/10 would do it again. everyone had a good time
