Google Chrome blocking some sites (BongaCams, AWEmpire)
Today I did a Google search for some cam sites programs (BongaCams, AWEmpire) within Google Chrome and when clicking on the resulting links... nothing happened. I just remain on the Google search results page instead of going to the site. WTF???
Why the hell would this happen? I do have an ad blocker plugin in Chrome but this never stopped me from getting to a site before. I tried this on two PC's with the same results. The links work fine in Firefox so it seems to be a Chrome issue. Any ideas on what's going on? |
No problem for me when I goggled the site names and clicked through.

Your Chrome must be crashing or something
|
are you using adblock?
|
Please post the exact urls you are having problems with.
Google chrome could be blocking ads on them. (abusive experience policy) or could be your ad blocker has updated and it doesn't like those urls. ---edit i just read the bit where you say you are on google search results page. so it cant be that. anyway, still post exact urls or some screenshots ? might be of some use. |
disable adblock.

Not for me, but for some reason Bing is hijaking my searches now..

AdBlock stops links from AWE, in every way possible. Also promo tools, banners, etc etc, they will all fail to load when you have AdBlock running
Chaturbate the same story. Your link (when placed text links) will be invisible until you de-activate AdBlock. Reporting never helped, they always ask the same question, and they always reply they are working on it. |
When you click on a result on the google page, look closely at the tab next to the page you're on. You may find a new tab appears and then disappears almost imperceptibly. This is google opening your results in a new tab, and then your adblock closing it milliseconds later...

Nope, working fine and correct.

I wonder why nobody ever brought this to court because it is not an "ad" that they are blocking it is a target URL. someone should sue them for that. |
OP here again: yes I am using the Chrome AdBlock plugin but I've never seen it block an entire site before. I just turned it off and I am able to get to the sites.
Here are the URL's (basically the first Google search results): https://bongacams.com/ https://www.awempire.com/ BongaCams and AWEmpire should probably send a "cease and desist" message to AdBlock because it seems crazy that they're blocking those huge cam sites. |

It ALSO blocks text links to chaturbate on GFY too ! See Below... https://i.imgur.com/IRAXpA4.png So, with it 'off' you see the link in his sig that says Chaturbate Money Makin'... But with adblock turned on, that link is no longer there... https://i.imgur.com/yQ3ZYDd.png Hmmmmm..... |
This been known for ages. Unsubscribe from ad list filters and you will be fine.

adblocker are made for blocking ads and some tried to charge them for that but unfortunately they won this fights. what they are doing now is NOT verified by any judge yet but I think it should. they do not block the visibility of an ad but they block the access to a side - wich is A HUGE difference. ABP and a few other adblockers detected ads, links and images before and they blocked the origin url of an image file. now they block an ad simply by the TARGET url or parts of such an URL. and as we see here users are NOT aware of that. I'm pretty sure a lawsuit based on that would turn out differently. |
Do you understand that this has nothing to with ad blockers like ublock, ublockorigin, adblockplus but anti ad lists you've been subscribed to, like https://easylist.to/?
Pretty much everybody can create a list and people can use it or not. https://github.com/easylist/easylist/issues Code:
