How do you amend a previous webmasters fuck up?

After finding about via some chitter chatter and research, the previous webmaster of a tube I just brought basically fucked over a bunch of people with some dodgy backlinking. Now I saw huge potential with this website but after reviewing ahrefs allot of these high quality backlinks have started disappearing. I'm now left out of pocket

Caveat Emptor.

Good luck in coming up with a solution.

I had once buying fuckup as well, i forgot to check trade partners of site, and once i transferred site i realized how almost all of them are bot sites. I did not even complain about it as i didn't do proper analysis before buying it. Unfortunately, no choice but to swallow it.

These links were not even bots. This guy fucked people over with trades which have since been removed. Hoping the webmasters can hear me out and understand I do not conduct business this way at all.

:2 cents::2 cents:

Fix the links or hire someone else to, then contact the people that you had trades with to explain and get those back up.
Not much else you can do.

Find a way to fuck it up even better . . .

You have nothing to lose naming the site and the webmaster - There are a lot of lurkers here that may well be some of the trades...

If I were you, I'd try to make good and then reach out explaining the situation and hope they reciprocate by putting the links back.

It's an opportunity to show your character and build good relations with the owners of the affected sites. Even if it hurts your pocket short term, it'll come back around.

As I mentioned in a previous thread about mike from XXXBRits - that anyone doing business with him "will get fucked over" - It's a shame you purchased his site!

He was one irritating, rude and arrogant webmaster who stepped over the line with his arrogant attitude over a series of emails back and forth with ridiculous demands....

Email the webmasters with an apology for the past with the other owner. Offer to start fresh trades and assure them that you’ll honor the trade agreements. Disassociate from the previous owner and tell them about the great business you’ll do for the future.

Be legitimate and don’t fuck them over

I used to have a script for trade checks. A friend wrote it and it was simple. The database had the trade links and I’d run it weekly to check for the link. If it came back as missing, I’d manually check and email them before removing the trade.

A good cider would write this and distribute it for a nominal fee. Maybe a link in our signatures or a link on the affiliate signup pages.

Just a suggestion..,,

This is something I'm currently in the process of rectifying with webmasters. I imagine this to be a slowly and lengthy process.

A month on and this is proving rather difficult to amend with affected webmasters as they are requiring proof of new ownership which has ben outlined in my sales thread that this Mike is no long associated with this site yet nobody wishes to hear anything out.

I have made excellent rapport with my customers via blogposts and services have been provided with zero complaints..I do not understand why these webmasters that got fucked over by Mike are not hearing me out in regards to this... :disgust:disgust
