Uptime monitoring service with SMS alert
 

Hi there!

I did a quick google search for website uptime monitoring services what could alert me via a text message. So far seems like https://updown.io/#pricing is a good and cheap starting point, or is there anything better?
I've unmanaged VPS's as well, so its good to get alerts which I do via email now (got a script set up to send me emails once down), but I guess it would be better to get an SMS as well. Or should I look for an SMS gateway API instead? Not sure if that would come out a lot cheaper then an all in one solution like updown.io

Does it have to be SMS? What about email?

We use UpTimeRobot for that.

I receive email reports already (as mentioned in my first post :)) using my custom php script, but would like to have SMS as well.

We use UptimeRobot and it has SMS alerts.

We're using site24x7, they have services you can install to monitor mySQL, Apache etc. To get detailed reports more than just up or down.
