As about "why"... because I'm Russian. These are most popular snacks for beer and vodka here.

P.S. I also like pickled eggs, the British style. I make them by myself using quail eggs (they are very popular in my country) because they are much more tasty than the chicken ones.

The fish look like Rudd - We don't eat them in the UK...

My favorite choc bar is 'Crunchie'.....

The fist one is Caspian roach, salted and dried. All Russian men eat it with beer. It's also good for the Nordic Europeans, but the South ones (e.g. Italians) won't even take it in their hands :) You don't need a translation, just watch the video which shows how it looks like and how Russian men eat it (that's not for ladies, as you can see ;)).



As about the second picture. These are fish or meat sausages for beer.

@CyberSEO - I see there's a lot of salt intake in a russian diet, is that healthy or mainly "manly"? I love salt and I need a leeway to continue with it.
