California is Burning

Fuck, so many fires.

itx 08-20-2020 08:22 PM

GOD bless California, pretty sad.

EddyTheDog 08-20-2020 08:29 PM

I am sure it's something to do with there being more nutters about - It gets worse every year and in Australia's last season so many where started deliberately...

How can anyone get off causing that amount of suffering?....

theidiotlink 08-20-2020 08:33 PM

Not fun living out here right now, ash and soot all over the cars air quality is horrible for everyone. Going to work my girlfriend said the field workers are still picking with the fire going on no more then 1000yards away. Hope some of these small towns don't end up like Paradise, CA last year or those Australia fires. Word is going to shit.

GAMEFINEST 08-20-2020 08:36 PM

Hopefully Rochard is ok, his in Norcal

but they weren't, that was just how is was being spun via Murdoch media and the alt right trying desperately to deflect from the climate change debate.

Single spot fires on the side of the road somewhere.. are like Chimney fires here.. nothing burgers, sure occasionally one will flare up but over all we have much bigger issues.

When lightening hits a area of dry bush/forest often 20 miles from any roads, it can start thousands of fires within a hour, and hour later they have combined and you have a real fire.. That was basically the scenario for vast majority of the fires last year.

Fire is serious business here, your caught in season throwing a ciggy out of a car window... that's arson, rubbish fire in backyard.. arson, fireworks.. arson. And that why so many are charged, just realise it doesn't translate in to lunatic with a can of petrol and a match very often.

Might I add most of those areas hit by fire, tomorrow have snow forecast, dams here are flooding they're overfull, flood is the next danger.

RyuLion 08-21-2020 04:32 AM

oh wow, I guess I should catch up on the news!

I feel sorry for all the people being displaced. I hope they can find some way to recover what they have lost.

Thanks for thinking of me, we are fine. The big fire is about sixty miles from us. It's very smokey outside, can't go outside; People have been complaining about ash.

This happens every year and the videos are terrifying.
