Wide monitor recommendations
Hey, looking to to replace my two-monitor setup with one ultrawide. Thinking about Dell UltraSharp U4919DW. Anyone using anything similar and what would you recommend.
Or maybe it's better to get two 4k monitor setup? Dell UltraSharp U4919DW https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/qMxU...025_0005.0.jpg |
I think Mark Prince has that Dell one. Supposed to be pretty good :)
Don't forget the new offering from Samsung though :) |
I Upgrade to Philips 499P9H/00 49” monitor last month when we got the new office, and happy with the shift from dual monitor.

Right now I'm more in to 2xDell UltraSharp U2720Q 4k monitors setup and the main driver for me is that text will be sharper and in general picture quality will be better. |
This is what I have: Dell Ultra Sharp 49" Screen Led-Lit Monitor Black (U4919DW)
I love it. |

- Reading/studying - Watching youtube or other videos while I play around - Little bit of editing(video) but nothing for customers NO gaming I had two Samsung S24E650 before (still have them at home, and use it now) and loved they because of speed and color, but wanted to have one desktop only at work, to be more productive. It's easy to tab around on the different windows, when you can still see all the 4 windows you are working at, at the same time |

On the other hand, I have used Phillips for many years, and my TV's are Phillips as well - always been happy with their quality. |

The main difference I found is panels, VA on Phillips and IPS on Dell. Dell uses same panels as LG so I will dig deeper. |
I have 2x Alienware 34", 3440x1440. *great* setup for both work and gaming.

The first 2 years Dell were in Denmark (1997), I actually rand the hardware replacement department in one of their two Danish partners (Getronics) - So I know them well, and have nothing bad to say about them just their current partners. I dont use any other product from Philips than the monitors and the TV (and I'm bald) ... sooo I dont think we have much to fight over :1orglaugh |

Dell has lost my business. Will not buy again. Edit: I have no experience with the partners in Denmark. LOL. |
Avoid LG, had two of them fuck up, and they won't even offer any warranty service due to covid... One of them broke two days after buying it
