Depends on the topic and how much research it requires. I'll start the bid at $800

But I can sometimes save you a bunch of money by doing cool literary things like leaving out nouns and shit.

FTR I used to pay $10 per 1000 words. That would make a 6000 word article $60. Add on a bunch on research and stuff and surely it can't be more than a couple hundred?

You got a good deal, then. But, for about 12 pages worth of writing, single space all text, that could take a while depending on the topic and research needed. If you PM me the topic and a good offer, though, I could start right now.

I'll tell you what. If I leave out the verbs too then I can probably get it done for less than the $800 that mike wants, but not much less.

So, you get adverbs, articles, adjectives, punctuation, all that kind of great literary stuff.

It is a bargain, trust me.

If you have a decent site, you could perhaps get a journalism student on the cheap, hoping to put it on their resume. I don't know if many would want a porn site on their resume though.

If you want someone who will take a general idea of what the article is about and then just spew out whatever he/she is thinking on the fly, then that will be about 1-2c/word.
If you want someone who will do thorough research on your topic, cite sources correctly in MLA/APA format, use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc, as well as being fluent in English, then that will cost a few cents more per word. If it's adult, though, it probably won't need that much work. :upsidedow

No writer worth their salt is going to put together a 6000-word article based on research for $120.

The first post was pretty much spot on. $800 and up for that kind of job.

Think at least 10 - 15 cents per word.

I charge $0.065 per word for basic stuff and higher for "serious" articles.

I used to use a writer. He wasn't the best ever but he was ok. He would do around 1000 words for $10 and that included images.
He was English speaking but didn't live in the west. From what I understood, the articles he wrote paid his beer money and lodgings.

Oh, much cheaper then.

I would say $150-200 unless the research actually means spending 3 or more days going through books etc. On the other hand, if the research means google.com, then $150. :2 cents:
