I wonder where Twitter got this idea from
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/recode/2021/2/25/22301741/twitter-super-follows-subscription-communities-fleets
Could be interesting or could fail like periscope. Time will tell. |
Twitter going fully mainstream?
|
meh, ...........
|
Since adult is allowed on Twitter, I think it can be huge if they pull off the same features on site without models needing to take surfers to a third party site. Getting the credit card to be on file will be a challenge though.
PS: Hi Pipecrew, long time :) WG |

Yeah this could be very interesting if they are going to allow adult models to use these features. I could see a lot of mainstream people that use something like an OF, possibly preferring this as you lose the "porn stigma" Imagine if they let these people use SQUARE as payment processing. The throughput would be crazy high + much lower fees. |
Most of these big companies are moving in this direction, Google with Google Pay, Facebook with Facebook Pay/Diem
Makes sense when you have the users, once they have a seamless payment system they can all have a one click setup like Amazon. Facebook have the network effect through Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp - When they get their system setup right they'll have the potential to have something similar to WeChat in China which you can use to order everything. Groceries, train tickets, hotels. China are years ahead of the West in that regard A friend of mine lives in Wuhan, he was telling me that when the lockdowns happened in Wuhan, no one was allowed out of their apartment buildings and communities created a group on WeChat and ordered food in bulk for the entire apartment block and it was delivered to the front of their apartment gates. |
pay-for-posts feature - better late than never :)
|
We'll see if they keep adult on board or kick the tits and ass to the curb!

Ok to answer your original questions
Dorsey has explained the origin of the "Twitter" title: ...we came across the word 'twitter', and it was just perfect. The definition was 'a short burst of inconsequential information,' and 'chirps from birds'. And that's exactly what the product was. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitte...0product%20was. What's sad now is when companies rely solely on twitter for their business rather than an addition to their social media section of traffic platform. Generally social media is a small percentage of the overall traffic source for most companies but is good for branding in a way. Large companies show less than 1.5 to 2.5% of traffic is from social media. |

i´d read about this the other day too... https://www.slashgear.com/twitter-su...eets-25661290/ same news just different site :2 cents: |
Twitter has several new features coming to the platform:
• Super Follows: users can charge followers for exclusive content. • Twitter Spaces: users will be able to converse in audio chat rooms. • Twitter Communities: users can join groups based on their interests. |
They cut my followers 15k..I dont use it ..remined me same like a Fb,I have stopped using them few years ago
|
Tbh i'd love to see Twitter starting to make money with adult content... our industry has currently no high level "clean" partner that profits from the industry, supports it, and is credible in the eyes of this world's lawmakers.
Wait and see. |
They'd definetely need to clean up as there is just way too much crap on there right now. They will not get the billing in place in it's current form.
At least that's my semi educated guess. |
