Do u think the adult industry has a piece on NFT's world?

Adult models will make their own NFT's? Just a photo for example?

The only use I would ever see of it would be selling exclusive content to one party (rather then multiple parties on license), but with that said this all sounds like a giant money laundering scheme like with art so...

This kind of stuff is hard to predict. There are cam models out there with massive followings who might be able to make a go of NFTs if they have the knowledge of how to go about creating them.

Is anyone in adult working on this or claiming to be working on this yet?

Thing is, it's just a download link that becomes available after you purchase an NFT, hosted externally. The content isn't in any way linked to the buyer's wallet, nor encrypted with the public key of the buyer. If it was possible to embed the downloadable/unlockable content inside the NFT, but somehow only decryptable with the actual buyer's keys, then things would be interesting.

As in - user/buyer needs to sign in to his wallet in order to login and verify himself, and then gain access to the actual premium adult content etc.

Another thing is the high ETH fees... an additional $25 miners fee on top of the actual purchase is pretty common at the moment.

The buyers of the NFT are simply minting a "download link" to the video file after their purchase... Not much different from a normal digital download purchase.

I don't really see how this is going to solve piracy-issues or create scarcity, I mean, what's stopping the NFT buyers from sharing the download link with their buddies? Or simply re-upload the video?

Since they are the first, it'll probably make them a nice quick buck and free marketing.

Generally speaking, can someone direct me to any independent credible institutions of blockchain tech, which seems to be the underlying foundation of NFTs?

ie. Are there any block chain era Ralph Naders who have the tools to critically audit Bitcoin, and other blockchain dependent schemes and publish credible reports of the integrity of those they investigate?

For auditing, transparency is crucial, but block chain is all about opaque records.

So.... What's stopping me from sharing your files after I've purchased your NFTs and downloaded the content of your server? What's the actual difference between selling video as an NFT in comparison to selling video using a regular pay wall? Both ways - I would make a payment and download the media files from the very same server.

Don't get me wrong, I like the concept of NFT's, if used in projects such as Decentraland. But for regular media selling (like video's), it's just a glorified pay-wall, which doesn't do anything to solve piracy issues.

NFTs are now mainly used to sell media 1000x its real value, sounds familiar? The kind of hype which will never last long. It's like the 2017 ICO craze. Normally these small start-up companies would be worth absolutely nothing, so they would just publish a white paper, create some random placeholder token (which takes zero skills), and suddenly those small start-up companies would be worth millions in value thanks to all investors. You can sparkle glitters on a turd, but it's still the same turd. Just attaching some sort of blockchain/token to a project or company shouldn't suddenly make its value go up by 1000 times.

Each token is unique and written out as a contract. So theoretically as long as the media item has a unique feature, which may be as simple as a serial number, then it would be easier to trace which contract has been breached and by who I suppose.

Yeah, I get that. I completely understand the concept behind NFTs and benefits it could have. And like you've mentioned, those are indeed user cases in which blockchain or NFTs should be used; license keys, timestamped data, contract signing, identification, smart contracts, historical data, digital assets for games etc. Basically, anything that can be hashed, timestamped and stored onto the blockchain itself.

I also get the whole exclusive art concept of NFTs. Just the definition of "art" suddenly seemed to have drastically changed. :stoned

But when NFTs are simply being used to sell, for example, regular adult video content to fans, it doesn't make any sense really. Since the file is located on an external server and the token can be passed along (sold to the next buyer), which prevents the content from being encrypted and servered to the actual customer's wallet, fully encrypted using the buyer's unique public keys.

Unless some sort of smart contract is being used inbetween on both server-side (for file encryption using buyer's public key) and the hash of the new file location is somehow afterwards passed along during the transfer of the token (once the file encryption is finished), which is going to be tricky.

So I don't really see the benefits of selling videos as NFTs to prevent piracy, as it's not like the actual file suddenly became traceable, if it got leaked (unless there's only one buyer, of course).

As for Chris Crocker's "Britney" video NFT, I did some Googling and found that it was sold on a private member's-only site, by professional art dealers.

That's the thing, but those webpages and YouTube videos don't explain how exactly selling digital files like videos as NFTS are preventing piracy.

But when NFTs are used to sell digital files, I really don't get all the anti-piracy claims which pretty much all of the NFT enthusiasts, website articles and sellers are all so crazy and hyped about.

For example: You are going to put up a downloadable video on sale in the shape of an NFT. When you mint your very own NFT on a marketplace site like Rarible, you can only choose and set an one-time static value, which will become visible only to the owners of that NFT (all future buyers).
Hence the word "static" here, while this is useful for immutable data like copyright certificates/contracts, hashing and timestamping certain content to proof you're the original author etc... But having to use a static value for "downloadable files", really limits your options to protect your content server-side drastically.

Some options for that static value could be:
Option 1 - A mintable password - which the buyer of the NFT can submit on your website to download the video file... or maybe use to decrypt the video file afterwards (or whatever you choose, since all the validation happens server-side).
This option does not prevent piracy: owners of the NFT can simply share the password with anyone else.

Option 2 - A mintable download link
Does not prevent piracy: new owners of the NFT can simply share the download link to the video with anyone else.

The worst part is that when ypur password or download link does get leaked online, it can't just simply be changed afterwards, because the blockchain data is immutable. So if that link or password to your video gets spread online, your only option is to either change/remove the file on your server, but that would also make your NFT entirely completely useless to all the current and future owners of your NFT, since they will no longer be able to access the actual content.


Assuming you are planning to sell digital files as an NFT? Which I believe you do, right? Doesn't matter if that would be photos in a zip file or a video or whatever, doesn't matter... But what If I would buy that NFT from you on Rarible.com right now? And then go on and post your "hidden download link" just one minute later here on GFY? Wouldn't your NFT be completely useless from that moment on?


Lol, either I'm a complete moron and somehow missing an important key factor here: but isn't sharing a single "password" or "key" among multiple people (and without the ability to change security later on) a big no-no in terms of security, and thus, rather increasing the chances of piracy instead of preventing it?

And OK, one could implement the meta mask wallet on his website or server to prevent direct access without verification of the NFT ownership, but that's still not stopping the buyer(s) of your NFT from spreading the files once they've downloaded them or rip them from your site once they have access to it. This would also require some serious coding skills and knowledge of the ETH blockchain.

Maybe build in a google authenticator, sms verification to make it more simple :)

But that would require dynamic values to be passed along during transfer of the token's ownership from one to another, that's exactly the problem here, since you can only set a static value once (upon creation of the NFT) on marketplaces like Rarible.


But why even go through all that trouble, in the end, it's still the same file on the exact same server, just using a different payment method. The only thing that magically changes all of the sudden is the value of the content, but that doesn't seem to worry most NFT evangelists.:anon

I was also just kidding. NFT's is a hype where the creator makes big money from coins and buy a worthless NFT painting to pump up the coin and hype. In the end a banana taped to a wall can cost millions. So maybe when this is one of the first, it got some historical value.

Maybe something like Fantokens. But that is already there, chaturabate has coins. They only have to make it a blockchain and make $$$ when it is on binance. All the people hodling so you cash millions. And people go nuts cause they serve a purpose just like some game coins. make a whitepaper and start cashing. They could use existing coins, but why throw away billions. People will think billions made in porn, well it will be when people buy coins and hodl.

That is why it is a hype, famous stars that promoting it to make money. They must get money somewhere now that most events are cancelled. Or their career is over.
