Greetings all,
I'm a mid 50's male wanting to start my own site. I used to think I'd be behind the camera and editing content, but now I'm wondering if I should do some things in front of the camera from time to time - I'm no porn star believe me, but it seems there might be a market for something like this. I have seen Porno Nerd do some similar things, and there's the disturbing Chubby Daddy site as well with fat older fuckers like myself with nicer young women, so I'm curious is this a genre you can work in and evolve in? I honestly want to find a way to support myself for the next 15 years or more and working in the 'real world' doesn't seem to offer much. I have a fair bit of experience editing, hosting and website creation etc, so I'm not a complete noob.
Thoughts are welcome.

Yep, as Roald said, that is market which works well since majority of customers are looking like that, so for them it's easier to identify with such actor then with some muscled hunk.

Another pro tip: get good lighting kits. Most cameras today will shoot 4K so don't go crazy there just make sure the scenes are extremely well lit and you will do fine. Fun way to make a buck!! Oh - and try not to fall in love with the models. :)

another tip, never shut the camera off, show all negations and all the conversation, chat while she if filling out the paperwork. and after the shoot, even the model clean up. if you can fake an argument about the rate even better... even 'if I'm gonna fuck you, I'll need more money". not every time but enough to keep if interesting.

the big time guys edit, but the consumer feels cheated, like stuff happened they don't know about. they want to see it all, not have to buy BTS down the road... for lighting you want the 'Walmart look' light everywhere and flat. shoot your lights into the ceilings or walls. avoid windows, mirrors.

Why not go the 100% reality of basing the site around the idea that as a 50+ male, you've decided to book and fuck pornstars to make videos? That way there's no 'BS' scenarios of how you pretend to meet and get to fuck the girls, like as if it would really happen anyway...

If you want a 'story' element, make that about them arriving in normal clothing on the day of the shoot, and you telling them what to wear and what you want to do with them. Then that takes place as the scene...

In other words you are almost saying to the guys who watch, 'I'm just like you, and you could be doing this too, if you wanted to do so'

Most guys in their mid 50s have a bit of spare cash, and would LOVE to book pornstars to come around and act out their every fantasy... But they can't because they are married, or have a GF, or are afraid of the kids finding out, etc etc, so those same guys can spend that money on your site instead, and live vicariously through you, with no real world consequences.

Finally, just a tip, but don't fall into the trap of making the site / videos 'Too Much' about you... Remember, it's ALWAYS, first and foremost, about the girls... people might 'buy in' to see 'Average Guy booking and fucking pornstars' but they are NEVER joining up to see you. It's ALWAYS the girls.

Another though regarding my above post, is that by doing it like i suggested, you could double your potential sales. I'll explain.

Video starts with you choosing a girl from a modelling site - Lets call her 'Annie' - Perhaps you send an email, or you talk to her on the phone and book her. Then, (at a later date) she arrives, you say hi, and discuss a fantasy of yours. You say (For Example) you want her dressed in her old school uniform and to sit on your couch in the lounge. Then, you come in and pretend to be the 'Dad' who's child she's been babysitting. You have no money to pay her, so you offer her sex instead - Naturally, she agrees...

So, with that in mind, you then cut to your lounge, where the above scenario plays out...

After the cumshot, we see her back in the clothes she arrived in, with you paying her, saying goodbye and she leaves... Then you go over to your computer to look for your next girl to book...

Now that as a scene, fits your site. The actual sex is say 30 mins, and the bits at the start and end are a max of ten mins total combined.

Those extra 10 mins set your stuff apart from other peoples, however you can still resell to other resellers the scene that's in the middle, as a 'normal porn scene' that can be licensed from you...

One shoot, two possible sales avenues from the same content - Double dipping extra money :)

we've had a lot of paysite startups on PornCMS with varying results. the best advice i can offer is that you need to make it personal. a site that simply publishes a couple new videos a week doesn't do as well as sites that have a lot of behind-the-scenes posts. involve your audience - ask them what they want to see, do a vlog, post surveys - and you'll grow every month.

the other suggestion is expand as quickly as you can afford to. this year open your old/young site, maybe next year open a teen site. you can shoot the content with the same models on the same shoot days. porn customers get tired of everything, even if its their favorite niche. give them something else (you own) to watch when they get bored.
