Nine songs about selling drugs and shooting people and one song about black people being unfairly targeted by police. A classic!

he was/is still one of my fav artists, his music was like an intimate diary he chose to share with us. think of 'Slipping'; no one here has ever felt that way? if not, you are far too well-adjusted to be hanging out here :upsidedow a man with a lot of inner demons, but he shared them so beautifully. loved his more vibesy tracks as well, just making the point that he was extraordinary at conveying his issues without giving in to them resting in peace I hope cheers to an extraordinary man |
on a cheerier note...

sure there are bad cops, but there are also decent ones. but both are trained within the same system that instills attitudes about racialized bodies, creates (or reinforces) biases, and sadly how often to escalate rather than diffuse interactions with Black, Brown and Native people look at the cop towards the end of the track, sitting on the stairs looking so despondent, like why am I even doing this? cuz that's how they're trained. it's so fucked up. and he knows it same with the court systems in NA; severity of penalty (or even conviction) often really depends on how one looks and ignores the differences in backgrounds between the racialized poor and white middle class peeps also gov policies. think of the impact on generational wealth when returning Black WW2 soldiers were denied low to no interest housing loans given to white soldiers and their fams think of Native kids torn from their homes, communities and cultures to be starved, beaten, sexually abused and killed in residential 'schools'. think about the psychological and economic impact on those who survived this shit isn't ancient history, it's a partial explanation for the issues racialized communities face to this day governance, policing, prison and court systems need to be burned the fuck down or fundamentally restructured, and constructive alternatives to prison for non-violent crimes created in sum: it's not about victimhood, it's about recent history, and a set of sick systems that ultimately harm us all hope you get what I mean, even if you don't agree sure OHL would have a field day with this but sure he's here in spirit :upsidedow |

question: can all y'all actually see all the tracks in this thread? for me 8 of them are:
https://i.imgur.com/ylBbpql.png including one Brass had posted just hours earlier yesterday frustrating cuz I actually want to see/listen to what y'all post sometimes it's just a formatting error, I can do 'inspect element' and find the URL which will work on yt, but sometimes even then, nada, just takes me to some yt homepage-like thing wasn't sure if it was a regional blocking thing for some tracks, so tried a US-based IP and still the same result is it just me? like wtf, seriously wondering if anyone else encounters the same? it's happened before, not just in this thread frustrating as fuck |

jesse turn off ad blocker... they added something i can't figure out what blocks embeds.
|
gracias Brass for your input (you as well Falcon) but I don't even use an adblocker
perplexing, was wondering if it was just me this happens to, and like I wrote above most of the time I can get the yt URL from page source if I get the error message most tracks are viewable, a few I need to do page source, but with a small handful it's like they don't even exist on yt so fucking weird c'est la vie and thanks again, now back to the music |
