Amazon is still backwards in some ways...
 

Not really a 'rant' but it just seemed daft that this is the logic of Amazon...

I place an order for 2 different 'Prime' items yesterday - Thursday. One will be delivered the next day (Friday) and the other will be delivered on Saturday (One Day later) - Fine so far...

At Checkout it suggests I get them both on the same day, to save driver trips to my house, which is perfectly reasonable. Why not get them both together on the Saturday? I think and go to check that option...

But if I do check it, I won't get EITHER of them, until the following Friday ! Over a week later!

If they have them both in stock (which they do) why not send them both on the Saturday? Makes perfect sense to me... But no - I'd have to wait over a week !

Anyway, I didn't accept their kind offer, First package has just arrived (Friday today) and the other is due tomorrow (Saturday)

(Seems extra daft when I'm only gonna say that they didn't arrive anyway, and claim my money back as usual, but that's beside the point...)

You'd think that Amazon would have thought the same as me... Ah well, never mind... Saturday day is my favourite day of the week anyway... Know why???

Amazon is ok its their partners and delivery companies that are fucked. However they are good with refunds. Twice now they have delivered products to my business offices on a weekend and left them on the foot path on a busy street, they usually last about 30 minutes before someone walks off with them.

This past week I ordered an air filter cartridge, It arrived I signed for it and put it in the air purifier. Happy customer! Yesterday I got a refund note due to "admin errors" and they refunded the purchase... Which I never asked for or had any communication about the product, but I'll take the $79 bucks back happily... morons.

Cool, but as I dont actually use the loo, and simply go in my pants, it doesn't really apply... :(

Fact is, that all of the most successful, rich, powerful people in the world, lie cheat and steal all day long, each and every day. However because they do it for huge sums of money, with stocks and shares and Taxes, the people they hurt are their workers... The everyday people, running on the treadmill, trying to make ends meet for their families etc, yet no one cares as it's just "Big Business".

When I do it however, it's the opposite way around. I don't cheat the little guy. I cheat the government, I cheat Amazon, I cheat mega corporations and organisations... I cheat the cheaters...

Why should be any different to them?

the two products shipped separately are probably coming from different distribution warehouses. if you want them shipped together, they have to get together first, then logged into inventory, and shipped out.

at least that's how the US network works..

Yeah, but all I really meant in my OP, was (without getting all confused with days of the week) was...

Both items are in stock. One will arrive tomorrow. One the next day. So hold off sending item 1, for 24 hours - Send it with item 2 the following day. Might be 2 separate parcels, but still just one van trip to my house. That makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is to hold BOTH of them back, for over a week, in order for it to be just one van trip to my house.

FWIW, where I live, one van serves my area. I never get two separate delivery's from amazon logistics in the same day...

Amazon loses money. they only make money on Prime. logic is irrelevant :1orglaugh

here in Thailand they have Lazada and every seller has to handle their own fulfillment and delivery. we had a $2 keyboard cover driven in from 3 hours away with a $3 delivery fee lol. the petrol cost more.

i think we're still in stage 1 of this shop at home revolution..

Different warehouses, I get the same here.
I try and bulk order stuff, as noone can ever find where I live, so it's easier to explain it once and head into the village to wave at the driver I'll order 10 items all coming the same day, they come in 3 - 4 different packages.
