Emoji domains

Hi, I bought my first emoji domain ✖️✖️✖️.ws a week ago, just for fun. It is just nice to have but do you think it will ever be useful? In the browser, the emojis are converted into a puny code and in the end it looks more like a shady url. They are also not supported by most TLDs but you can buy '.ws' for example. Are there more webmasters who have emoji domains?

I didn't even know this was possible. Sounds odd.

I make it a pissing site/tube over the generic one. Then the WS stands for 'WaterSports'

XXX Watersports :thumbsup

& dont forget to add in some poo too...

looks interesting, but how to enter emojis in the address bar? only works on mobile?

subdomain usage could be a thing for secret pages or instagram links..

Emoji subdomains are like normal subdomains, except that they begin with emoji. Emoji subdomains are possible with many popular TLDs, including .com. As with any other emoji domain, emoji subdomains have to be converted into Punycode and can then be used as regular subdomains. Thus, domain combinations like 👍.example.org (xn--yp8h.example.org) are possible. This allows a wide scope of emoji domains outside of ccTLDs.

No. I think the proliferation of domain types has just diluted the space too much, and these don't seem to offer much new.

You would have to type Unicode characters in the address bar of your browser.

Internationalized Domain Name (IDN)

Emoji domains are a fad. Stick with .com and single keywords or short phrases that have commercial value.
