Cloud hosting questions
 

Hey all
What's the consensus here. I want to put 10 wordpress blogs on one server. They will be new so minimal traffic for a while. I keep seeing cloud hosting popup here and there but never used it. I know they can be used with serverpilot. Anyone got any experiences with cloud hosting? Can they be used with cloudflare?

for this i would go with 8gb ram, 4vcpu to be safe.

a couple options are available, depending on your budget

hetzner is $18 a month for this
linode is $48 a month for this
mojohost is $58.99 a month for this.

hetzner and linode wont let you run sendmail for email sending, so you wont get your wordpress emails, etc.

alternative is to use a smtp like gmail smtp to send emails but thats a pain.

mojohost will let you use sendmail, thats what im using. also mojohost has the best support around, linode and hetzner you could be waiting sometimes day(s) to get an answer.

I also think VPS is a good match for this workload. Cloud hosting just isn't really necessary for this project and definitely isn't the most cost-effective solution. Lastly, while "RAM is RAM", it would also be the case that the vCPU in our VPS offerings are substantially faster than those in use at Hetzner, Linode, Digital Ocean and Amazon Lightsail. With this concept that not all cores are created equal, your VPS hosting choice is probably driven more by ram. As far as disk I/O is concerned, this is also a typical bottleneck, but you won't find that the case with MojoVPS because they are using the latest NVMe.

The other consideration, if you can fit in our 2 vCPU 4GB RAM for $29.99 or this one with 4 vCPU 8GB RAM for $58.99, the $29.99 one comes with 300 megabit of unmetered bandwidth and the $58.99 one comes with 600 megabits of bandwidth.

Hey MrMister, I want to make sure you're taken care of, can you please DM, email, telegram or skype me the ticket number? I would literally pay a lot of money for a map of GFY IDs to client accounts :D

Also with Mojo and using the 4 vCPU 8GB RAM configuration. I'm running ~30 WP blogs on these servers and they run smoothly with a load of around 2.0. If its just 10 WP blogs you may be able to squeeze the lower end VPS server to suit your needs and can upgrade if needed.

Decent shared webhosting for $20 a month should be fine for 10 wp sites.

also mojohost uses up to date server hardware, linode and hetnzer use super old intel gold systems, or 2nd gen amd, which is pretty old.

but sandman is also correct shared hosting can work with this. if they are small sites.

All hosting is "cloud" hosting.

Cloud is just a more complex and sophisticated way of using good old hardware servers.

I think a VPS will be best for your current requirements.

I preload them with content for 6 months at a time, but I use WP-Cron to make 1 post per day (random time).
