Hello from Florida -- Just making the obligatory introduction post:

I came across this place while I was doing research for a content production company I'm starting up called Unusual Cinema.

After lurking around the boards for a bit, I can see that there are a lot of heavy hitters and good people to learn from in here. I just hope that I have something of value to offer the community as well.

This my first real foray into an adult business. I worked in porn production almost 20 years ago when I lived in Van Nuys, but I didn't run the company / and it was a long ass time ago.

I have a good bit of experience with video production (I used to produce local tv commercials), but I still have some questions about some basic stuff like 2257 compliance, custodians, etc. that might be best answered by people that are doing it.

Recently, I've been working with non-adult marketing agencies to help with conversion-rate-optimized WordPress designs, graphic design, and other strategic marketing services (like email, marketing automation, project management with Notion, etc). Like most of the entrepreneurs here, I'm primarily focused on conversion rates and direct sales.

But my primary goal is to convert to adult work full-time. I understand that it's different from what I'm used to and that it presents its own challenges... But I can't deal with the mainstream world anymore. Haha.

I'm sure I'm going to learn a whole hell of a lot from this community. And I'll do my best to be a helpful contributor as well.

It's hard to pick just one, but some of my favorites include Soilent Green, Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage, Vital Remains, Goatwhore, Cryptopsy, and Cannibal Corpse. 🤘

I love Metal, but could never get into Death Metal. I can appreciate the speed and precision of some bands like Autopsy and Deicide, but the guttural / death growl vocals sounds kind of rediculous to me. I'll listen to a song or two, but thats it.

I can understand that. I'm definitely more about the precision and speed than the vocals. In fact it's always bugged me that no band *truly* figured out how to put real singing with that kind of metal and make it work. You've got some like Acid Bath or Protest the Hero that incorporate "clean" vocals, but it still isn't like a "This is Ozzy, but for Death Metal". Haha

I'm into everything, though. What are some of the metal bands you're into?

BTW, I was checking out your website. I don't know all the ins and outs of video chat software, but Miricam and Mbase look like really great solutions. Look forward to learning more about it. 👍

Death Metal from Florida. Memories awaken! Deicide, Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse... All heroes of my youth. I used to love Death Metal above all else back then. Eventually, I switched to Porn and Goregrind and currently, I really enjoy Slam Death.

Nevertheless, I still regularly listen to the masterpieces from the '90s.

I am not picky on the vocals, but I know what I don't like. For example, System of a Down's music is amazing, but I cannot stand the lead singers voice. Just awful. :)

I love the sound of "Industrial" Metal. Rammstein, Ministry, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Fear Factory, etc. I also love Chevelle. Before you ask though, I'm not into Nine Inch Nails. To me, they had one good song ("Closer"), and thats it. :).

Thanks! We have a new version coming out later this summer and if all goes well we will be offering a free license in addition to the paid licenses. It is the first time trying the "free" business model but I am excited for it. I'll keep you posted if you are interested.

Hell yeah! I'm all about 90's Florida death metal. Deicide and Morbid Angel were always blasting out of my shit back then. Especially MA's Domination album.

I'm also into some ultra brutal goregrind and porn grind. The whole porngrind aesthetic still appeals to me.

What would you suggest as a good example of "Slam Death"?

All those bands are good. I really like Marilyn Manson's "Portrait of an American Family" album. I didn't love "Antichrist Superstar" when it came out, but it's grown on me. Especially now, since there's so little stuff with that much bite in it. Really into Ministry, Fear Factory, and Rammstein.

I will try to visit the Obscene Extreme Festival in the next 1-2 years. I keep meaning to go, never made it yet unfortunately.
