The Omen (1976)

Did you like this movie?

TheLegacy 08-20-2023 05:59 AM

The Omen movies were great - this one was creepy as old style horror goes.

No VHS or cable in those days.

Must of seen it live on the big screen.

They're making a prequel film that comes out this year. Bill Nighy is in it so I've actually got reasonably high hopes

Now that we know that the kid is the Omen the movie doesn't work anymore . . .

Ok the Omen came out in theaters back in June 6, 1976. VHS came out around 1977 but before it did there was BetaMax which you could rent. When VHS took over and stores opened up renting them out in the mid 80s (DVD's mid to late 90s)

So yes we either saw it in a movie theater or Drive In Theater which were popular back then and the Drive In didn't really care how old you were. You bought a ticket - they told you to go to a certain area for your movie - instead you drove to the restricted one and parked. No one checked. Hell - there are times people hid in the trunk to avoid paying

Saw it in the theatre and watch it all the time on video.

Like most franchises, the first one was the only one worth watching.

A good double header is The Omen, and then The Exorcist.

Absolute classics!

:thumbsup
